Nope
VV, a potential blockbuster, has bombed because of poor promotions. If you dont tell people about your product, no one is going to watch it "out of curiosity"

Or may be just small promotions rather than trailers which can give out plots and people decide based on it
I think just a teaser, trailer should be enough. When they overdo with releasing every scene when the movie hits the theatre, why bother
I think SMZS did it the best, the animated intro into the animated world of Kartik Aman, the trailer and a few scenes here and there (if they went overboard, IDR) and before someone goes "what business that movie made" thats not what I am going for.
Raazi too used social media to its best effect. They had ViLia do press tours, take quizzes and stuff and promoted via teaser trailers and stuff
Even introducting #BeatPeBooty types trend is a cool idea and using social media influencers to promote the content (not include them in the content just for their fanbase like Prajakta in Jug Jug Jeeyo and Dolly Singh in Modern Love Mumbai) is a nice idea

This is where nowadays trailers fail. They ruin the suspense or make the whole story seem lackluster.
