तेंडुलकर मोडकी पाठ आणि पायाचा तुटका अंगठा घेऊन जवळ जवळ एक वर्षापेक्षा अधिक काळ खेळला होता .तेव्हा तो जबरदस्त फॉर्मात होता, सगळ्यांना नुसता बुकलून काढत होता. पण शेवटी दुखापतीमुळे त्याला ब्रेक घ्यावाच लागला . त्यानंतर तेंडुलकरने पाठीमुळे आणि कोपरामुळे आपला खेळ पूर्णपणे बदलला पण त्याने रन्स बनवणं थांबवलं नाही कारण तो जिनियस आहे . त्याचे बूट देखील स्पेशल होते, त्याच्या मोडक्या अंगठ्याला सपोर्ट करण्यासाठी.

विस्डेनने भाकीत केलेलं कि हा माणूस कमीत कमी २०,००० टेस्ट रन्स काढेल. तेंडुलकरने जर स्वतःच्या इन्जरीज कडे वेळीच लक्ष दिलं असतं तर २०,०००चा पल्ला त्याने आरामात गाठला असता.
