I agree totally. But slapping should be the option when the child tries to cross the limit. No other physical punishment should be given .

They will listen to you, if you can properly make them understand.

Actually multiple studies have been done and shows that hitting children does not help. It only helps parents who have no patience to actually teach children right or wrong, so want to keep them quiet through fear and take easy way out. Sitting and talking to a child is hard work and you need to have patience and time and effort. So lets beat them, easy. Beating is installing fear, not installing values

Would parents beat if child was big and could beat them back? Nope, they only beat as child is weak and small.

Today, we live in a world where even dog trainers don't beat dogs to teach them and it's sad we still have people advocate beating kids

The reason its an offence in many countries is because people have realized violence doesn't work. And that its wrong to commit violence against small kids.

Children who grow up with violence also are more likely to be wife beaters and use violence in other aspects of life

If a husband slaps his wife or a wife slaps her husband we will be shocked and say its wrong even if they are strong adults, but it's amazing when the same people justify slapping a much weaker and smaller child. If slapping an adult is so wrong, imagine slapping a literal child who is still learning right and wrong and is physically weak and looks up to you as God.

Totally agree corporal punishment might have been a norm of olden times but, time and again studies have shown physical abuse is not acceptable.

Yes, just imagine, if someone beats an adult spouse we are shocked. If someone beats a dog or cat we know it's evil. Yet people are ok with beating a much weaker and defenceless child?

what i feel is anupama never matured into an adult or other she behaves like a kid only following orders or talking non stop nonsense. She never became a mature adult or mother or a wife in life only a slave and immature kid till 45 years

May be because she married very young or is not much educated or economically independent so shes subdued around all shahs

No modern wife even a 45 year old will give such leeway to vanraj or her kids or in laws
