Never compared them before but you are right. Both always had/have a know it all attitude and no filters. But while Rishi always presented an image of a family man (affairs’ rumors not withstanding) and sort of bragged about being conservatives Mahesh brags about being a liberal, write articles about his affair with Parvin Babi and says things like marriage is an archaic institution.

Mahesh was a great filmmaker and has made some great contributions to Hindi cinema. But unfortunately he’s more known for his controversial comments. It does appear that after SSR’s death and his stupid and arrogant statement on that his family (more than likely Alia since it affected her the most) has put a muzzle on him. He’s been pretty quiet in recent times.

As for who’s shady in Bollywood? Legally I don’t know. I’m sure some are. There are court cases, drug use, direct or indirect involvement with criminals, sexual assault and harassment cases. But if we are talking morally or ethically shady? Probably a lot more than we realize although personal opinions and judgments as to what is immoral or unethical makes a difference as well.

It wasn’t his mother. Story goes that it was Boney’s first mother in law, Arjun’s grandma, who hit Sridevi allegedly while she was pregnant with janhvi.

Salman's family. Has links with underworld and politicians alike. Dutts also have links to underworld and politicians. Deols are weirdos and women are treated like doormats and not allowed to go in limelight and men have affairs or second wives, mistresses outside marriage.

Bachchans are scamsters, tax chor, AB gave hate speech inciting against Sikhs in 1984, but saved through powerful political and business links. Easily the most politically savvy family of BW.

Feroze Khan family- drugs and philandering.

Kapoors - doormat women and philandering, abusive men.

Anil and co - underworld connections, Boney is tharki, 2 wives.

Bhatts - weird, incestuous mindset, alcoholics, mentally messed up, which wife is which, which kid is from which wife, nobody knows, illegal and criminal connections, political and underworld connections

Akhtars - Shabana had lot of affairs with politicians and others, both Javed and Farhan left first wives, Javed claims to be atheist but he and Shabana always speak on issues of one community only.
