I was thinking along the same line. If they are so hell bent on showing Anupama's conundrum, they could have shown the baby is in ICU fighting for life. Though even in such a circumstance, her leaving Anuj would have not been justified, but at least I could have sympathized with her Batwara dialogue.

Exactly the dilemma could have been justified... Now it's pretty clear she isn't needed there then why😳

Kya Pk writer dialogues likh rahe hain, the doctor tells Anupamaa that Anuj’s condition is critical he should not be left alone and even with a medical attendant he needs family to be around him and devi ji is worried about nachna gaana and not Anuj’s health and recovery. Is the daadi banne ki khushi more important than the possibility that Anuj could get critical or die.

And when Anuj dies she gets another opportunity to give bhaashan and cry some more before whole shah family can shift in the Kapadia house.
