Yeah lack of love was the reason sadia moved out . She wasn't happy with Salman. Ab she had an affair , she has a second family , nobody knows. Sadia madam is a mystery .

Salman called her when he was dying , to make sure basit is not orphaned completely and that he marries as per his will..he gave his property etc to sadia , which basit will get only on the condition that he marries someone.

I meant legal divorce 😆

Thanks dear ... I was wondering how she ended up at basit's place after all those years... now this make sense....

Need not to say her thoughts do affect basit nd he wants her approval that he is not a heartless man. So we might get to see basit trying harder in this relationship after he listens to her over phone.

He is already burdened with the pain of his mom abandoning him, so the fear of ayesha leaving too is deep rooted and even though he never shows or voice it, but coming episodes we'll see it ...

You are absolutely right. If Ayesha trusts another person (especially a man) with respect to this issue then Basit will feel insecure and subsequently get angry.

However, if we see this from Ayesha’s perspective, Basit hasn’t done much to earn her trust (emotionally). Talking about Zoya running away is a personal and even embarrassing situation for Ayesha and barring giving Bano a job, we have seen Basit’s utter disregard and at times disgust for Ayesha’s family, so she wouldn’t be able to disclose such a deeply personal problem to him.

Although why do I have a feeling that Ayesha may go to Fahad which can absolutely mess up the whole situation. I mean Ayesha doesn’t exactly have many male figures in her life.

I’m also very sad that the MIL passed away..she was such a soothing character and was very much required to help Ayesha adjust and update and find a way to Basit trusting her..More importantly here was an MIL who was so wonderful ..in an otherwise toxic representation on TV ..I just felt like my heart shatter a 1000 times during that birthday party scene and then when Basit realised he lost his mother.. this is sad 🥺🥺

I hv read everyone's views here and I must admit i am more addicted to show now... you all are fabulous in analyzing each nd every emotion of leads...

My reason to post here is my curiosity/restlessness.... actually I want to know basit mom's back story .... I mean what happened when Basit was kid ? Why did she leave ? I mean if she loved someone else or other reason? And how come she was back to basit ?

I am yet to watch starting episodes ... so I am very confused about her story ... and after her death I am just restless to know what actually happened and how they gonna give closer to basit's pain.

Plz update me if they showed anything regarding her back story or where she was ? Was she married to someone else?

Hey girl!!! So Habs magic has caught you as well!! 🤗

1 Ayesha telling Basit about the backstory could sound believable since as people say sometimes the ones approaching Death has a feeling their time is coming so they try to complete their wishes as soon as possible... it might be that Sadia too felt something and Basit was not going to listen to her so she ended up telling Ayesha about it and that is why Ayesha reacted like that (we all found Ayesha's behav at the funeral immature but if this was the thing then i can understand all her anger now)..

2. To leave it as a gray area- That sound reasonable at a literary point like writers often leave us at open ends believing we will have our own mind about the gray areas. Couples often have many differences in their relationships no one knows about, at times even their children, and later these things are never discussed, that is our real life.

But but... but I am afraid this would somehow give rise to STORIES onscreen where we would have a Man like Basit or the lead in upcoming show Wehashi, in the absense of a sensitive director this impossibly strange character would do anything as he/she pleases and then the reasons behind his behaviors would not be given and i dread that...already our screens have made MEN insensitive and intolerant ...if one such trend started, our screens would be intolerable.

3. i like this thought of yours the most, it is the reality... there is a song i would want you to listen more importantly the lyrics OLDER by Sasha Sloan, it fits the scene so well. as kids we make an image of our perfect parents and when we grow up and get in their shoes is the time we realize the mistakes a normal couple or leave the couple a normal grown-up can make...so yeah Basit making peace with the fact that okay, his parents broke up, they could not be together and though he would not get the love and care from both of them he could still forgive them for both of them wanted the best for him and who knows if they lived together as a broken family of 3 , Basit might have ended up sandwiched b/t who was wrong and who was right.

Aaah, i love these discussions.♥

🤗❤️🤗

regarding the gray area, I didn't mean to say that Basit's faults should be excused but just that when such separations happen and if not handled properly, it can seriously affect the child, no matter what the reasons were in particular. Our stories do tend to romanticise toxic males and throw up some childhood trauma as an excuse to justify all that toxicity. In this case, as I had said, Basit's forgiving his parents will make him come out of that bitterness that has enveloped him. It did not matter whose fault it was, Sadia's or Salman's. Basit did suffer for it but he too has to realise his parents were human. But of course, we all want to know what had happened. Why Salman and Sadia, who both seemed such decent people, could not make their marriage work.

One thing I feel about Sadia is that she did not find happiness in her other relationship either. Had she found a loving partner who truly understood her, she would not have told Ayesha that men only want happiness from their women. That they don't keep tally of their sadness.

That scene made me feel that even with her second husband, Sadia had remained unloved or did not find what she had left her marriage with Salman for. Especially one area where Sadia might have felt especially lonely in her second marriage must have been her feelings for Basit. She must have missed him at the same time as her second husband might have wanted her to focus on him and their relationship. He might have been careless about the sadness she felt for not having her son with her. Who knows...

Thank you so much for telling me about the song!! Loved it! In fact, we need a VM on Basit set to that song now. And that is really what I was talking about too. The peace that will come to Basit when he begins to think of his parents not as Mumma or Baba but as individuals who made mistakes because they were human.

Hi thank you for your wishes, the shifting is a temporary situation but very hectic 😅 I would like to say that your posts are a delight to read as well and I always look forward to them 😊 Your observations regarding Ayesha and Basit’s relationship dynamic are very astute.

I feel as soon as Basit has started becoming slightly more invested in the relationship, Ayesha seems to be pulling away emotionally. I say emotionally because she does seem to care about his well-being and wants to ensure that he’s well fed and taken care of, thereby fulfilling the role of being a wife (I say this because in brown cultures, these are largely perceived to be the duties of a wife). However, emotionally, I believe she has been hurt by Basit’s callousness in the past, especially following the non appearance at dinner, not letting her work, the raised hand, the frivolous apology and the birthday episode. She did seem to be making an effort before all of these incidents. This has changed now, she’s formed an opinion about Basit that he’s a cold man who doesn’t care about her and needs no one.

On the other side, we see slow progress in Basit’s attitude towards Ayesha. You are absolutely right to use the word “restless”. That’s exactly what he was on the night of the dinner and even while looking at Ayesha and Fahad in the kitchen. He probably felt left out and needed some change from the constant grief and regret.

@bold Solid GOLD what you wrote girl!!!!

Thank you for putting into words something that I sort of sensed but had not fully understood. The division that has appeared in Ayesha's actions towards Basit now...on one hand, she is fulfilling all her roles as a good wife (again something that she has taken on more from her respect for Sadia) but on the other hand she is now reluctant to place her heart in Basit's keeping. The vulnerability she had experienced after their nikkah and walima, she does not want that pain anymore.

Actually I am very excited about this next stage because we have seen Ayesha making all the effort in the relationship till now. I want to now see how Basit tries to make their marriage work. Of course all this will make him try to understand what lies in Ayesha's mind and heart which is possibly why he tells Fahad that she is a strange girl and that he can't understand her. 😆

P.S. Hope the Habs thread is providing you some well-needed relief amidst all the stress from the shifting. 😳

Can we please discuss the promo?

I believe that Habs promos have been largely misleading. Do you think this is going to go in the direction of Basit doubting Ayesha and Fahad? Maybe the director has another angle up his sleeve.

So from the promo what I could make out was that there’s this scene from the bedroom where Ayesha is keeping her bag, which makes me believe that they went out somewhere..

Ayesha has formed an opinion that Basit needs no one as she tells her mother who for a change is trying to give sound advice.

Then both Ayesha and Basit are sitting for tea and Basit looks upset. Ayesha talks about Sadia, do you think Basit started the Said convo keeping in mind the last episode where Fahad advices Ayesha to not speak to Basit about his mother?

Fahad’s advice to Basit that all is not lost and he still has a woman in his life seems very apt.

Then there is this dining table scene (which looks like breakfast) where Basit is seen putting food on his plate and even offering it to Ayesha 🥰 But Basit gives her this look which conveys a very weird emotion, I think he’s trying to very subtly look for her approval. But she seems almost disappointed. What did you guys think about this?

The last scene where Ayesha is seen thanking someone and Basit seems to eavesdropping may be misleading. I mean the director has done this before… Also Zoya is running away, could the conversation be about finding Zoya?

What are your views?

Ever since that divorce paper scene they put in the teaser trailer as well as the promo, I am certain the editing team takes great pleasure in trolling the fandom.

One thing I think we will get to see in the next epi is Ayet play house, her the dutiful wife and him the aloof husband--all on the surface of course. His aloofness now will be an act just as she hides away her disappointment in him perhaps. Can we hope to find out about Sadia and Salman's marriage break up?

I think Fahad will encourage Basit to focus on Ayesha, and not make the same mistake of taking her for granted as he had with his mother.

@bold...love your reading of the breakfast scene...yesss...he did look like he wanted to please her at that moment as he passed the plate!!

I wonder what will make Ayesha come out of her resentment for Basit...they look like they are going out...could it be for Zoya's marriage?

Since Zoya is running away, will Basit pull a Mr. Darcy and bring her back? Will that help break Ayesha's prejudice against him?

And I think we shall see Basit getting envious at how easy Fahad finds it to talk to Ayesha when he himself cannot.

Someone mentioned in this DT that if there was ever a tv screen hero who was justified in getting insecure and jealous about his wife, Basit most certainly is one of them. So I am trying to keep an open mind.

In any case, every single week, we find that promos told us nothing about what the epi will actually show. So.....🤪

hehe...this is one fascinating line of discussion!!!

I want a scene where Basit watches Ayesha do her domestic chores, I want him to find comfort in that...maybe she is instructing Kareem with something...

haha..I guess they won't show anything like this..but I wanted a scene where Fahad, Basit and Ayesha sit down for lunch. Ayesha helps to serve food on Fahad's plate but since Basit had told her not to serve him, she moves on to serving herself. 😆☯️😆
