Arjun Reddy bigger than Kabir Singh?

Vijay Deverakonda became popular in North India after Kabir Singh became a Blockbuster, and Hindi speaking audience got to know it's a remake of a Telugu film Arjun Reddy.

Arjun Reddy later on got dubbed in Hindi through which Bollywood audience got to be familiar with VD. Kabir Singh pretty much did nothing for Shahid's career because his next film Jersey opened low and ended up flopping at the box office.

Liger was the first VD film which got released in Hindi, after the release of Kabir Singh. This movie would most likely flop as well since it's a crap film and audience has rejected it.

But the opening of Liger (4 Crores) being bigger than Jersey (3 Crores), tells VD had more of an impact with Arjun Reddy, than Shahid had with Kabir Singh on the North Indian and Hindi speaking audience.

Because 4 Crore opening is not at all bad for a debutante, compared to Shahid who is in Bollywood for almost two decades and still doesn't have a loyal fanbase.

Jersey got delayed, if it would have come on original date, it might have done better business.

Jersey is Drama genre, Liger was Masala action film.
