Yup. Salim Khan is the most shrewd and did smartest thing by smelling where the wind was blowing in 2013 itself. He launched Modi's Urdu website, asked Muslims to move on from 2002 and 1992, asked them to reform, met Mohan Bhagwat and accepted award from him, Salman also defended Modi over 2002 and said court did not find anything against him and flew kites with Modi at Gujarat and attended his oath taking ceremony in 2014.

He is also close to Mamata Bannerjee, all the more reason for him to get targeted besides his faith and his marriage, as well as his speaking on Islamophobia through MNIK and intolerance comment.

Aamir is one who has most directly confronted BJP and Modi. And is paying for it big time. He thought he was courageous but such a direct confrontational attitude can backfire in public life. He was safe till UPA ruled. He has been paying the price since BJP expanded power. PK, Dangal were not affected but his losing deal with Snapdeal and Tata Sky should have been a warning signal for him about power of propaganda against him.

Amir is a grandson of a great legendary historical figure Moulana Abdulkalaam Azaad.

Srk's father was also a freedom fighter and had healthy unbiased political connects.

Now I kind of know why Amir and Srk's most movies in recent times were unnecessarily targeted.

Yes Salim and Salman were bashed by their community and liberals but they secured own position.

Aamir had it coming because he openly donated for orphans and victims of Gujarat riots too and supported NGOs that work against communalism. He and Kiran support anti communalism NGOs and media outlets too. That makes them way bigger targets and irritants in eyes of current regime. Aamir is too blunt and bad with his words. He had openly called Modi a mass murderer after Gujarat riots and blamed him for those riots. He got away with it in 2007 but that old video is still used against him.

He is also friendly with Imran Khan and had inaugurated his hospital in 2004, hence easy to bash him more and link him to Pakistan.

Aamir had praised Dr Manmohan Singh, was close to UPA, hence hated. He is also related to Najma Heptullah who was with UPA earlier.

SRK is also friendly with Pak cricketers and had spoken on Indo Pak friendship and matched being allowed, since then he is also called deshdrohi. SRK had done a programme with Zakir Naik for NDTV in debate on radicalism and that is also used against him now.

These guys' religion, political leanings and personal life are used against them.

SRK has never directly said anything against Modi or RSS or BJP but his remark on intolerance and earlier wearing his Muslim identity on sleeve or making MNIK got him dragged over coals. He will be targeted worse for Dunki as it stars Taapsee who bashes RW trolls daily and attended anti CAA protests and film is made by Hirani who is hated for PK. Their targets are also big names. No bashing Paresh Rawal for OMG. Or Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher for films like Dhokha and Punjab 1984 where they played parents of militants. These guys are happily part of ruling party.
