No, hesitation is not enough. That possibility should've been dismissed out of hand by Meera.

A sister would've kicked Gautam out the minute he said something. A friend should've done the same. ESPECIALLY when it was the friend who took you in when you were strangers.

They were both snakes. 100% deserved each other.

With re: Veronica. She was pretty much the only one who actually showed any loyalty in the picture. Dhe at least understood the basic idea of friendship and lotalty. If she were going to be promiscuous, she'd probably told Gautam beforehand.

She dodged a bullet.

They were friends, but not exclusive to each other. That's what no-strings means-- that you're free to date others.

And Gautam did want to break it off with V--- just that he wanted to (and did it jointly) with Meera. Why is that so wrong? It's not like they kept on sneaking behind her back after deciding to date. They, like, IMMEDIATELY went to her and confessed everything.

If Gautam was a sex-hungry douchebag, he would be got back to having sex with V the moment Meera left. He did not. He didn't give in to V's advances even when they were completely alone. So, no, he wasn't a douchebag.

And nobody should dictate other's preferences. If Gautam wanted to marry the 'good' girl, it should be his choice. Many women hook up with fcukboys for fun, but would they marry them--heck no! 😆 So should they be judged???

And Meera also loved him, not just Gautam alone. Two people who love each other deserve to be happy. Why should they be miserable all their lives for Veronica? Is she a child who needs to be coddled?

Gautam and Meera weren't snakes, they were good people who got into an unfortunate situation.

Also, Meera shouldn't have pushed him away when she was also in love with him. Not everyone prioritizes friendship. In fact, love is always more important to most people. That may sound harsh, but at the end of the day, you spend your life with your love, not your friends. She didn't know Veronica loved him when she agreed to the relationship. In fact, Gautam convinced her by saying, "Veronica aur mere beech kuch bhi serious nahin hai. She won't mind, she'll say oh let's party". This is what Vero did, only to turn around and break down later. 😆

So, how is she a snake. I don't understand.

Apparently, because the marriage was foisted upon you, you should divorce, but now that you love him, you should re-marry the same person again, because this time it will be your choice, because re-marrying that same person again, will be completely different from last time.

is it really that outlandish? geez ... i'd recommend not only divorcing, in fact, it's best to annul a marriage that happened under such unfavorable circumstances, that came with the kind of baggage theirs did in the movie. After getting all the wind knocked out of her with that cruel breakup, she was a complete trainwreck. There's no way around making peace with that pathetic callous sociopath father pushing his suicidal zombie of a daughter into a forced marriage with a dorky looking stranger, without any space to collect herself together. It's totally sinister and unforgivable. I woulda never been able to get over it.

SO, just to break free of that memory and the "forced" aspect of it, I'd break that marriage and remarry. Cuz I would hate the starting point of my marriage to be tainted by something that evil and callous. Does it still sound ludicrous?!!!! 😆

Does it still sound ludicrous? Yeh. 😆 Even if you do all of that, there's no breaking away from that memory cause it's happened, divorcing/remarrying doesn't change that fact. Well maybe in your case if you were in her shoes, maybe going through that whole process might help you cope with what happened, but it just seems like a complete waste of time. 😆 I think most people would just get on with it.

You might be okay with throwing everything out the window for your "love" but Vero and Meera weren't exactly fair weather friends, you know. Vero was her sister from another mister so to speak. In other words, that's friends for life. I also disagree with your take that "love" is the only constant in life that deserves utmost priority with everything else taking a backseat. Not everyone is on board with that. A lot of people value friendships and honesty over "love." In my opinion, "You can't choose who you love" is an untrue statement. and neither does it give anyone a free pass to treat others, especially people they call their friends, with total disregard like you're suggesting. You owe a friend, esp a friend like Vero was to Meera, a lot more than what you owe to strangers. “I couldn’t help it” is never an excuse, whether you’re in a committed relationship, in a professional situation with another person you’re attracted to, or simply drawn to someone inappropriate (such as your best friend’s ex).

In this case, Gautam and Vero were still sleeping with each other, sans the commitment aspect of it. People are not that mechanical despite these labels. You are knocking Veronica here for getting attached and developing feelings for Gautam, the guy she was already sleeping with, just cuz there was no commitment. But Meera and Gautam developing feelings for each out of nowhere makes sense to you when she in fact always treated him like a disgusting pig? If you think about it, Vero developing feelings for Gautam is much more organic and reasonable than Meera-Gautam falling head over heels out of nowhere and leaving Vero in the dust. I'm not saying that you're wrong and I'm right here -- just wanted to add some additional thoughts to this particular "discussion" here.
