Also, Meera shouldn't have pushed him away when she was also in love with him. Not everyone prioritizes friendship. In fact, love is always more important to most people. That may sound harsh, but at the end of the day, you spend your life with your love, not your friends. She didn't know Veronica loved him when she agreed to the relationship. In fact, Gautam convinced her by saying, "Veronica aur mere beech kuch bhi serious nahin hai. She won't mind, she'll say oh let's party". This is what Vero did, only to turn around and break down later. 😆

So, how is she a snake. I don't understand.

I'm not watching that movie again to tell you what dialogue. But Gautam says this whole Mahan dialogue about how Meera is more attractive because she's fully clothed and more along that vein.

Nah, *love* is not more important than every other relationship. You consciously prioritize certain relationships.

If the lover smacked your dad across the face, would you still be with him? (I watched Darlings yesterday 😆)

If your lover cheated your sister in a business deal, would you still be with him?

ONCE AGAIN, would you romance your ACTUAL sister's friend with benefits? It would be a huge NO from most people.

Meera owed loyalty to Veronica because they were supposed to be friends. Not some random college roomie type friends. Sisters. Veronica took Meera in when she had no one else.

No ifs, ands, or buts. Meera should've sent Gautam away the moment he said something.

And Gautam should absolutely have broken it off before even approaching Meera. And if Meera still said no, he should've taken it on the chin and retreated.

In other words, that's friends for life. I also disagree with your take that "love" is the only constant in life that deserves utmost priority with everything else taking a backseat. Not everyone is on board with that. A lot of people value friendships and honesty over "love." In my opinion, "You can't choose who you love" is an untrue statement. and neither does it give anyone a free pass to treat others, especially people they call their friends, with total disregard like you're suggesting. You owe a friend, esp a friend like Vero was to Meera, a lot more than what you owe to strangers. “I couldn’t help it” is never an excuse, whether you’re in a committed relationship, in a professional situation with another person you’re attracted to, or simply drawn to someone inappropriate (such as your best friend’s ex).

In this case, Gautam and Vero were still sleeping with each other, sans the commitment aspect of it. People are not that mechanical despite these labels. You are knocking Veronica here for getting attached and developing feelings for Gautam, the guy she was already sleeping with, just cuz there was no commitment. But Meera and Gautam developing feelings for each out of nowhere makes sense to you when she in fact always treated him like a disgusting pig? If you think about it, Vero developing feelings for Gautam is much more organic and reasonable than Meera-Gautam falling head over heels out of nowhere and leaving Vero in the dust. I'm not saying that you're wrong and I'm right here -- just wanted to add some additional thoughts to this particular "discussion" here.

I never said that one can throw everything out of the window for love. I said that most people prioritize love over friendship, and they are not wrong.

Yes, the development of feelings was not portrayed well in the movie, I'll give you that. But then, you don't consciously decide to fall for someone. Many people fall for their friend/sibling's SO, but suppress it. Oftentimes, they cannot and end up having an affair. It's very wrong, of course, but I'm saying that here the relationship wasn't serious, so Gautam and Meera didn't know it would hurt Vero.

I don't recall any such statement, sorry. Even if he said it, that doesn't change the fact that he thought Vero would be cool with their relationship. He didn't want to hurt her.

Meera was also hesitant, but melted when Gautam assured her that V would be happy for them.

Bold: What I would do, would depend upon situation and circumstances. There's no unilateral answer here.

Oh, yeah. There was a scene like that where Gautam actually says to Meera that her wearing more clothes is what makes her more attractive to men.

No, this ain't about people being free to have their own types. This is about openly stating without actually stating women who are free spirited are s**ts.

And Gautam did that. He's a snake.

Meera melted? She's a snake. Or she would told him go away. At worst, she would've told him to go break it off with Veronica first without bringing her into it.

Well, I do have an absolute. You do not hurt my family.

I didn't say Meera had to marry Veronica.😆

But yeah, taking someone into your house does kind of imply you trust them not to take advantage at the very least. And if you say you're friends, you do owe a loyalty. A real sister would've send Gautam packing. A friend, under those circumstances, is a sister. That's what I was trying to say.

At least have loyalty enough to tell Gautam go break it off first, and then if Veronica is still OK, I'll consider it. Not let's go together and tell her we fell in love and hope she takes it on the chin.

You're not getting the basic point-- Neither Gautam nor Meera wanted to hurt Vero intentionally. They genuinely thought she won't be upset by this-- at least Gautam did. He did say that she won't mind since she's not serious about him.

Also, why did Veronica pretend that she's okay with it? That's downright creepy.
