Good Morning America says Priyanka is a "global superstar", agree?

GMA had Priyanka interviewed this weekend for her new restaurant in New York. But I think the "global superstar" term is ridiculous. She is a superflop star and hasn't had a hit in years. Do you agree with GMA's term? And why?

Nah, bro... I agree with you, it's silly to call her that. But looking from their perspective, she is someone who was a box-office star in India, then transitioned successfully to the US TV and screen space (I think the only Bollywood actor to do so unless we count Anupam Kher?), and married probably the most talented member out of that formerly virginity-obsessed mainstream boyband.

She's now part of the US pop culture, gossip rag and social media mainstream.

To most Americans, USA is already the center of the universe and Bollywood is probably the only other entertainment industry they know of outside Hollywood, hence to them she is a 'global superstar'.

We can argue on the term superstar. I don’t think it’s apt in her case as she hasn’t left that type of impact in India. But I would say that global star is pretty apt. She was a legit A list actress in India, on par with Deepika and Katrina in terms of stardom before she left. Not sure whether she has truly built herself a credible career yet in the US (it may come) as the competition is fierce there but she has built a global brand for sure. She has become incredibly tone deaf and irritating since moving to the US though. Don’t know if she came across as super bright in India because most actors aren’t particularly sharp, thanks or if I’d always been oblivious.

Bravo for her in all she has done and will do BUT that title just places undue weight on her shoulders because it is a fake title, there is no accurate way to prove how famous a person is,..Calling her a Global Super star just proves some of the ugly American ignorance so rampant... over compensating apologetics, even if some people think she is Deepak's daughter and many Americans-Mexicans-Japanese... will tell you they have no idea who the heck Priyanka or Postyanka is...it is patronizing really...No one is a global anything unless the entire globe says so..., plus there are a lot of famous well known people...but out there in the world there's bound to be those who do not know who they are or do not care, the last real super duper global star I think I saw was late Michael Jackson in my PO...and lookie ...the legacy lives on but the novelty fades off as new people and trends appear...How about just telling her she's done good and then go on to quote the work she has done?

These are PR appearances. Their team tells the show exactly what kind of introduction they want for the celeb. The topics to be discussed are also known before the show happens. I used to follow an American actor and he would be called “5 time Emmy nominee” no matter what show he went on because that’s what his team was asking for. PC and her team are pushing for “global superstar.” It’s dumb but nobody really cares.

that reminds me when I crave to eat samosa, I go to the app, add 2 samosas and then they show u GST + delivery charges total amounting to 12$ ...am like ok my craving is done for🤣
