virat is more than just Sai's husband or Son of chavan house. He is also a police officer- an IPS. His jeeva's shiva. His Kamal Sir's student. His aai's godu. And that is exactly why the audience is SO pissed with how V is shown.
1. No introspection- many episodes ago prior to devi elopement with pullu, he once told Sai he likes to sit on the "moon" to get a birds eye view- but NOT once has he actually done that on the show himself.
2. No care for Sai's pov- the woman he says he "LOVES". Never considers why Sai says what she does about PP,
3. Too much leeway to an obsessive ex- despite EVERYTHING she has pulled. He knows it all and dismisses it
4. No righteousness or high standards of code of conduct, morals when it comes to himself or his own family EXCEPT Sai. "forgives" everyone or rather gives everyone benefit of doubt EXCEPT Sai.
And the problem is NOT him making mistakes, him getting angry, him getting emotional, carried away, not agreeing with sai. NO. the problem is HOW that is shown and WHAT he does afterwards.
He has done way worse in the past if you look at it on paper- he has held Sai's hand in a tight manner- unintentionally injuring her, he has thrown her out of the house at midnight- BUT we could try to see his POV because those acts were shown in a lens where V was NOT made mahaan or excused. His pov was shown but not in a way to whitewash him but just to show things as they happened. And audience could still root for him and Sai despite never forgetting those actions because he had an arc, He showed progression. He showed repentance, You could see his motivations. He had the courage to admit his errors and seek forgiveness. But now its ALL gone. his apologies are non existent or fake, he has made no progression. He makes new mistakes, worse mistakes despite supposedly having growth in his relationship with Sai. And worse it is shown in a lens where makers instead of just showing things, are putting it in a lens where he is being justified and called "mahaan". that started since Sam return/ pre-mimo. During Mimo things were lighter so it was good for like a couple of episodes but even then he was actually insensitive to Sai's feelings. Sai warned himt then, she tried to discuss her feelings, insecurities then, he dissed her. but then Shruti happened and there has no looking back- steep irreversible decline in V.
Save a few moments where he let his "feelings" show- drunk holi episode, those cracks in his facade when he smiles at Sais antics as he acted all tough/uncaring, humoring her tantrums before her exam and the name change during the shaadi, some of the things he said in the bahu/beta debate in ZA after Sai doing naukri happened- those were the bright spots. Those were the only times he seemed genuine. Rest everything has been fake. Unfortunately these few moments cannot salvage the irreversible damage that has been done by all the other stuff he has done.
He has come across as incompetent as an IPS on the show too- during the whole Sai medical negligence case, V looked like a fish out of water. He acted all macho but actually could not save Sai. Sai had to rather step up and save herself and him even though it was his territory. He was in the position to fix things.
And now he has crossed all limits with this surrogacy and child saga. the fact that he has placed the need to have child above Sai, her feelings, her rights, her consent and their marriage and not even realized how much he screwed up and the makers showing that in a way as if V had his hands tied and was "bechaara" - there in lies the problem.
