I finally caught up with the show up to what i wanted to watch and it didn't involve the last pre leap track and post leap of the show. So as far as i have seen I just want to compare the two characters from what they have shown to us. Entirely my Pov.

Priya Sood : Her biggest strength is her ability to accept she might have to fight the world all alone. She didn't expect for anybody to help her or even support her. While it might be in totally contrast to Ram Kapoor who wants his wife to ask for his help. It wasn't in her character to really depend on others to solve her problems. Over the course of the show. She did indeed learn to depend on Ram for emotional support, someone to lean on when life gets tough but her innate character to fight the world alone was the reason she hid everything from everyone.

Also Priya family were never strong enough to even be her emotional support much less help her solve the problems. So she grew up hiding every problem from her family because in the end they would only worry about it and offer no real help to her.

To the viewers it might look as if she is lying or hiding things from Ram. But it is who she is that she needs to find all answer and have a solution to the problem first before telling her family in this case Ram.

Ram Kapoor : Ram Kapoor biggest strength is his friends and their unconditional support to him. He was never really alone. He could disturb his best friend at 2 am for something silly as ask him what is the time. He would demand Adi wake his wife to offer solutions to his problem. He had Tarun's to help him fold the clothes, switch off the geyser and just help him with everything he can't do.

That doesn't mean he was a selfish person. He employs his friends and must pay them handsomely enough much than anyone else would and obviously he pays Tarun's well too. But that doesn't mean Ram Kapoor only knows how to throw money for help, he would do just about anything to help if he can as well. If it is something he can do.

Ram Kapoor family is entirely dependent on him as well. But unlike Priya, he had both the support and wealth to cater to their demands. But that doesn't mean he was left unscathed by those demands. He health took a toll because he only knows work and family. His anxiety pills and stress pill were a constant because he carried the emotional burden of too many people.

When he got married to Priya, he wanted to help her just as his family. But she denied him that.

Over the course of the show, he did find a way to help as he tried to learn what he could do without making her angry.

He found a way to pay the loans, he got Neeraj a job even without her asking, he would find gifts that won't upset her, he would get even Mahendra Sood out of jail. In a way, he considered her to be his family and expect her to depend on him.

If he thought Priya as a friend instead and depended on her to share his burden. Then maybe they would have found a compromise.

Priya Sood : In my opinion Priya biggest weakness is her principles. Don't get me wrong, principles define a person and in Priya's Case it distinguished her from every other character. Her statement once when she said truth might be a bitter pill and she can take it but lying she won't accept.

But for her family and for others. She would always compromise on her principles. The first time had been when she lied about Shivina's suicide attempt to help her elope, the second time when she lied to save Adi in annulment issues, then when she hid the truth about Sood causing the accident for Ram because he threatened her family.

The constant battle between her principles and the lies she had to tell takes a toll on her that threatens her happiness. Because for every lie she utters she believes she deserve the punishment from the universe.

For Shivina elopement, she said to Ram that she is responsible for Shivina happiness and safety. If anything happened to her, she would take the blame. That is exactly what she did after her death because she thought it was her punishment.

When Ram forgave her easily for hiding that her father tried to kill him. She didn't forgive herself and went on to promise Nandini that she would take responsibility. And Nandini used those words to make her lie yet again about something as big as her unborn baby paternity.

Then when Ram learns about it and demands why she hid his child from him. Guess what she would do, she would further punish herself by doing something more reckless.

Because Priya was brought up on a home where she grew up hearing her mom expect more from the daughters. Priya was expected to be this perfect version of principles, truth and forgiveness that she must accept her ex and sister together without even a hint of bitterness. The level of perfection expected from Priya from Meera was way too high and the cost she had to pay was feeling as if the universe was right in punishing her for every small mistakes .

Ram Kapoor : Ram biggest weakness his love. He would do anything for love even turn into a fool. He would love someone who left him for wealth for years without even a hint of bitterness.

He would continue to love his family even if they treated him less than he deserved. He would marry for his sister's sake, he would release Priya's father from jail for Meera sake. He would forgive anyone of anything if he loved them.

No crime big or small is unforgivable for Ram Kapoor if he loved them. At the same time his love has an hierarchy and he reacts based on that.

Threat to his life : Forgives easily.

Steals his mother kangan : It is important but not as important as family.

Vedika Lies and create rifts between him and Priya : Few drops of tears, all his forgiven with a ticket to Manali.

Hides the truth about his accident : Forgives without a question. And pretends as if he knows it all along.

Cheats on his sister : No forgiveness

Caused his father accident : No forgiveness.

Kills his sister in an accident : No forgiveness.

Pregnant with his kid: His love for his child may have moved his heart toward forgiveness but Priya lie about the paternity sealed the door.

If we looked at Ram from a same lens. He might seem to jump from trusting to not trusting in seconds. But his biggest weakness isn't trust, but love. He would always react first out of love than trust.

You know what only us as audience tend to find more to the character then they were shown. While the show writers hardly care about those character and only want TRP.

Ohh ..girl👏

Where were you when we were discussing everything in details. I mean what you have said is completely right. And many on this forum agrees too.

Priya's weakness is her mother's expectations from her from the beginning and Ram's weakness is his love for his family that's got the dice rolling too for them and became their Bane as well.

All the discussion that goes around this person is more right and that is more wrong in my opinion is absolutely moot bcz they both have made their fair share of mistakes and one common mistake is that they both always trust their families easily like all the flaws and mistakes are made by them and their families are the symbol of purity and truth.

Priya has learned her lesson of worshipping her weakness that was her trust on her mother now it's Ram's turn to learn his lesson of worshipping nandini.

I loved these characters for their uniqueness but they have been dragged through mud in my eyes in the name of the story. And it saddens me.

But as i could understand you are a new supporter and binged watched the show from the beginning so I'm sure you must be enjoying it and keep sharing such views. I'm reading an analysis after very long here and it was an delight tbh.

Priya's weakness is her mother's expectations from her from the beginning and Ram's weakness is his love for his family that's got the dice rolling too for them and became their Bane as well. So true the amount of time Priya cried that her mother got looked down because of her. You can understand how much it drove her as an character.

Both were at fault over the course of the show. I could almost find everything relatable right up to the point of pre leap track. That is when i couldn't find the character relatable to an extent .

Priya has learned her lesson of worshipping her weakness that was her trust on her mother now it's Ram's turn to learn his lesson of worshipping nandini. I don't think they would really show Ram accepting the truth. I almost feel like they would rush it with Ram asking for forgiveness after learning the truth.

I loved these characters for their uniqueness but they have been dragged through mud in my eyes in the name of the story. And it saddens me. This is why i stopped watching the show as of now. I stopped right episode 160 and doesn't intend to continue because if i saw the episodes during preleap and after, it would sadden me too.

But as i could understand you are a new supporter and binged watched the show from the beginning so I'm sure you must be enjoying it and keep sharing such views. I'm reading an analysis after very long here and it was an delight tbh.. It was fun and yeah i liked writing the character perspective from my perspective 😆 and my mind runs with lots of idea for the OS as well due to the binge watching.

Love this. I agree 💯%.

This forum has always had the best analysts. Unfortunately, when it was really buzzing, edts moved too fast for me to read much or participate, but I remember Doodle's excellent pieces on Ram and Priya.

I think why some of us still bother, even if we don't watch much, is because of the promise of the early episodes. Not perfect, but good, with lead characters that offered something new. I don't think anyone but 1 or 2 people on this forum expects anything satisfying to come out of this, but we haven't quite stopped being interested, for various reasons. And maiyya knows how to play people. Now the main interest of those not invested in the show or not watching for DP-NM is to comment on how screwed up it is. 😊😊😊

I had also watched around till 185. Which was honestly a mistake bcz this story completely stopped making any sense after 160. So good decision.

But it's nice to see people here who are still putting energy for the show.

I had also written things when the story inspired and motivated me but this sane story has killed any ideas i had further. But i read your recent two stories and they were very good. Keep going.

I stopped watching regularly around Ram's birthday. I checked the forum and watched selectively, and it took/takes less and less time. I usually catch up weekends, and I'm not wasting my time on bs. Anyway, a quick scroll through IG/bird leaves almost nothing you need/want to see.

It's true, almost every show deteriorates after a point, because even the little trouble cvs take goes to hell once they're assured a large enough section of the audience is in love. Or looking for the one event to happen. Or just stans of one or both leads. Once they have that, they can do pretty much any old nonsense--until they go too far and have to shut down.

I think most of us are waiting for Nandini to be exposed. Even knowing it won't be as satisfying as it could be, unless writers are willing to throw out the All Parents Must be Forgiven rule.

Trolling the show is the best fun.🤣

Hey, I absolutely loved this. I'm so glad you've covered their character flaws, they're bang on and still relevant post leap. Ram obsessed with love, too trusting to being very indifferent and Priya, chained by her principles was perfect.

But, have you stopped watching at ep 160? I mean, I too wanted to, then couldn't resist. There are load of non-nonsensical shenanigans, but there is a lot to unpack post-leap. You can skip the all the 'non-sense' just move on to the better scenes- at least that's what I did.

I mean, you write so well, it would be nice to have you onboard as newer episodes come out as well. I actually read this post of yours thrice, it's really well articulated, and I would love to hear from you and read your thoughts they're lovely and well put-together.
