I can only think of udaari for being progressive and trying to change all the social stigmas in every way possible. Even in zgh, kasaf kind of used to look down on the ex fiance of zaroor for hanging out with guys and wearing modern clothes. Zaroon had problems with his mother being a career oriented woman and even didn't liked kasaf for being academically more brilliant than him. I remember even in Gul e rana which is about a girl that wants to study and be independent victim blaming another woman after her husband who she herself clearly knows is a total asshole tried to molest that woman. I was dumbfound after watching that scene.

With Hala the writer clearly has no intention of showing that she is mentally not stable enough. They simply want a masoom lachar FL and that's it. If the drama was about making people aware about mental health then obviously a guy like Hamza would have noticed all that. Even shahjahan is crazy to the level she needs mental help.
