i picked some very old lata numbers to try next event- ruk ja raat, and tera mera pyaar amar, ab to hai tumse. I think she had some of the most beautiful songs to sing. Wish there were male versions too.

I’ve always preferred depressing songs, especially because of the lyrics and poetic brilliance. Some of Jagjit’s songs are a personal favourite, including Chiti na koi sandesh, koi faryaad, hothon se cholo tum and hoshwalo ko khabar kya.
Saatam Shivam Sundaram is Lata’s best till date (in my opinion). This contestant will give you the male version of this song and it is brilliant. Listen till the end if you have time.
