I doubt. I have seen few Marathi families like this. Those very traditional they will not accept it marrying non maharashtrian.

After overhearing the convo in the precap, Appu is going to inquire about Avantika, maybe even in front of Mai/DK and probably pester Khadus to tell her about it too which is why he makes her promise not to bring up the topic again (in the BTS he looked serious and Appu wasn't hurt but just upset and disappointed so I'm guessing). makes sense! Appuuuu will not want to hurt them so she may though not do anything because what can she do unless something else happens.
She will def though barge in and question them about Avantika and they will brush it off and she won’t let it go and then DK will get angry and yell. Appu will be upset because he has never spoken to ladki like this and she will be upset or crying and either Khadus will see her like in room or she will go to Khadus and question him and etc…

That's a possibility. I think KKIS had her marrying a muslim.

I hope there's a little bit more to the story than just a diff guy though like Jolly said...maybe some fights or tiffs between Avantika and DK that led her to leave home. The guy might not have been educated or good in their opinion, something like that! Hopefully we find out by end of next week!
