Reshoots are fine though. It's standard practice in most industries. Bollywood if anything, needs more of them.

The bigger problem is Bollywood does the scripting and reshoots within their own circles. They need to collect audience inputs and have test screenings, then reshoot. If you are going to be Marvel, need to commit to their entire factory line approach.

I didn’t know that about reshoots. How much reshoots are we talking about? Just a few scenes here and there or does it become a whole new schedule of shooting? I think Bollywood does the former and calls it patch up work.

Yea as far as I know Bollywood doesn’t have test screenings. It might be a logistical issue. You can do it in some markets and have the audience sign legal documents agreeing not to spoil the movie publicly. But in certain other markets that may not be feasible. I don’t know. I’m just thinking out loud.

Depends. Sometimes they shoot multiple versions of key scenes, and just re-edit with some patchwork. Sometimes there is significant overhaul, to the point of adding in new plotlines. Marvel nearly has reshoots on every project. The new Dr. Strange had a six week reshoot, you could almost change the entire film in that period.

Ayan just seemed to have added a love song and some light scenes in Varanasi. I guess to lighten it up a bit.

Plot points definitely leak through test screenings, but I feel like often the studios encourage people to post online to generate hype. You rarely see people posting online after test screenings, when the film response is negative. You could definitely do it with urban audiences atleast, that's better than nothing. Not with Shanaya and Khushi though. 🤣
