It is with Shekhar Kapur right now. So that obviously means this film will never happen.

Maane KJo legit had a brahmastra in the form of rights of Immortals and he did nothing with it. smiley36This shows why he is heavily dependent on flavours of the season because he himself has no vision to create one. If there is any excitement from my side for Brahmastra, it is because of the elements of Shiva which is implicitly powerful. Now imagine the magic that would have been created if they did go for an adaptation.

Though I wonder, which director in the Dharma camp would have been capable. I was one of those who really enjoyed Agneepath and waited for Brothers which turned out to be a damp squib. Out side the camp, may be Gowarikar, then again the debacle of Mohenjodaro.

I totally forgot about Immortals of Meluha. And now I’m wondering how much of it has been incorporated into Brahmstra during one of its many revisions.

Shuddhi had Salman as the lead cast for the longest time and then one day it was announced that Varun and Alia were doing the movie, with Salman’s blessings. Kalank’s cast was always a bunch of rumors. The strongest was that when Sridevi was approached for the movie she agreed on the condition that Janhvi get the lead and Kalank becomes her launch movie. There were definitely rumors of Janhvi being part of Kalank out in the press. This is where Alia’s self defined struggle came into play where she told KJo and Varman she’ll be very upset with them if she doesn’t get the role. Supposedly KJo promised Sridevi another launch movie for Jahnvi and that’s how she got Dadhak and Alia got Kalank. To be fair, KJo probably saw Alia as a better business decision than Jahnvi for Kalank. It’s a whole other story that Kalank failed and Dadhak did much better 🤷🏽‍♀️😆.

Somebody should make a comedy show on Dharma Productions. The shit show KJo had going on, while bleeding Fox Star dry was something else.

Wait, I didn't even make the Brahmastra connection. My initial thought was he took some plot points from Meluha for Shuddhi and then was planning to screw over Amish. All this Shiva stuff makes so much sense now. Even Meluha had that Astra stuff. Jeez, Karan.

Shuddhi even had Ranveer Deepika for a while. I think Ranveer Deepika were leveraging Shuddhi for a better deal from Bhansali. 🤣

Yeah, I remember Alia getting Kalank led to Jhanvi getting Dhadak. Which led to Sara being kicked off Dhadak, and getting Simmba. But I think somebody said Kalank was Alia's audition for Bhansali, and she pretty much dumped Kalank's failure on Varun and moved on.

Yeah KJo had a trilogy in hand and he let it go away. Though that would explain why Brahmastra is a trilogy.

I don't think anyone in KJo's camp can do Meluha. It will probably have to be a joint production with Bhansali in the mix. Set design is everything for this film. And you need someone way more competent than Bhansali for the action.

Shekhar Kapur is a good fit. But given his track record, i don't think it's happening. Amish anyway doesn't seem hopeful.

Gowariker will make a 10 hour long documentary with the dullest colors. Meluha would go from riches to poor people playing Gilli Danda 😆

Provided it’s produced and directed by non-Dharma people 😆

@Red: Yep.

Meluha's screen rights are with an international production company, not Dharma.

If Brahmastra resembles Shiva trilogy in any way, shape, or form, you bet KJo will get his pants sued off him. Global production companies won't play those games after they paid Tripathi a crore for the rights.

Brahmastra is the Shiva trilogy. It's confirmed. I am surprised people here didn't know this. Just wait for it. On 15th, it's going to be a blast that blows everyone's minds away. Just wait for it. There is a reason KJo, Ayan and everyone associated with it is super confident. It's going to set new benchmarks for Indian cinema.

Well... Dharma will find itself sued magnificently if it tries to release outside India. Meluha rights are with International Arts Machine. They paid a nice chunk of money for it.

There will be few changes and artistic liberty, so nobody can sue. Nothing is going to happen. KJo is a big deal in India. He is not the only producer. Everything is covered up. The Brahmastra trilogy is much much bigger than what it seems right now. Just wait. It's going to be a pathbreaker.

KJo makes a lot of his money outside India. Courts in India have no say over lawsuits filed, say in the U.S. If it bears any resemblance to the Meluha trilogy, he will get sued. He will lose.
