EK seems to be going down the cliched path. We at IF seem to be in minority, seems to me that the cliched tracks appeal to the majority that watches these soaps. I doubt TRPs will go down, especially if a child actor gets added to the mix.

The fact that despite all the hue and cry done by the FD on IF/Twitter/Insta, the same ghisa pita plots are being served is proof that we are not her majority audience. So long as she making money, I doubt we will see any change in the treatment of ITV soaps 😔. It is a business after all. Her OTT offerings are very different, it's clear she understands her audience.

Sorry, I'm probably coming across as a killjoy, but having set aside my emotional attachment for the show, this is what the rational side of my brain is telling me.

Although he was being sarcastic/considering it a myth…

I feel that is exactly my take away…itv is regressive and ott and supposedly I feel this about one of the best shows 🤔😱

I was explaining the plot of BALH2 to my son and he was in shock…like how could I be watching a show where :

Boy and girl get in an arrange marriage…fall in love…

Stepmom trying to break marriage

Husband’s friend is killer of husband’s father

Wife’s father is husband’s father’s hitman

Wife’s brother in law is also involved in killing wife’s nephew pushed n kills husband’s sister

wife goes to jail…

How did I fall in love with this show🤔😞

This has always been the case, right, at least since maiyya and the like took over itv? Tiresome plots, ott acting, stock shocked expressions,bet al. Thankfully balh at least spared us that pull-out-hair-from-roots (over- or so-bad-it's funny) acting and many of the cringy cliched scenes (like fl falling and ml catching her every second day, frozen in agonizing positions, staring at each other like zombies).

It's so true that the aim is trps, not online viewership. But then, why was a 'different' show shown in the starting months? Why not aim for trps right off? Do they lose courage each time they try something a bit hatt ke? Or does creativity last just long enough to bring in the audience that makes a noise on sm, then tire and fall into the rut and try to retain or increase trps?

I will continue to watch as I've watched since quite some time now. Check BTS, watch precaps, then watch clips I think might be interesting on weekends, until I lose interest altogether, which may be soon enough, of Priya turns even more off-putting.

Now thats a wrap for me, alvida balh2.. I seriously wonder who is the audience who love seperation and all this unnecessary drama.. According to me, sensible Indian audience are not liking it. This is my second ever serial which I started seeing after seeing their interesting promos at the beginning.. The last one also starting its downward journey from 100th episode onwards. I have decided now that I wl not get drawn to any serials.. Am happy with OTT web series and korean drama🙂🙂
