Ranveer, Tiger, Shahid have no star power, Kartik to save Bollywood?

When Jersey got an opening of 3.75 Crores nett on first day, people easily blamed Shahid's lack of star power for such a low opening. When many other things were against that film as well, not just Shahid's lack of stardom.

Like Jersey was a remake of a Telugu movie whose Hindi dub was easily available on YouTube and many have already seen it. It was supposed to clash with KGF 2 but makers haphazardly postponed the film which resulted in negative publicity of the movie. Jersey released one week after KGF 2 when the latter's hype still hadn't died down and was eating any film in competition. Apart from that, it was also more of an OTT kind of film since it's not necessary to watch it on big screen. This excuse is currently being given for Jayeshbhai Jordaar as well.

Heropanti 2 got an opening of 6 Crores on first day while facing a clash with Runway 34. KGF 2 was still going strong as it collected more than Heropanti 2 and Runway 34 combined on their opening day. People said Tiger's stardom is over, but there were other reasons why its opening was low and the movie flopped.

Like I already said, KGF 2 was still going strong, and apart from that the audience rejected the film when the watched the first trailer as it was cringe. You can't sell them shit in the name of masala to the audience. Atleast not anymore. Audience has high expectations from action movies as well after watching Pushpa, RRR and KGF 2.

Now Jayeshbhai Jordaar has taken an opening of 3 Crores, which is lower than the opening of Heropanti 2 and Jersey. So should we just declare that Ranveer has no stardom left just like Tiger and Shahid? Or would this time people would give excuses like it's an OTT movie (like Jersey was), or audience wasn't impressed by the trailer (same happened with Heropanti 2).

Doctor Strange 2 didn't get effected by KGF 2 at the box office, and MOM's own box office run mostly ended in one week because of not so good word of mouth. So Jayeshbhai is not even going to face any competition from any other movie like it happened with Jersey or Heropanti 2.

Next week Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 releases and trade is expecting that movie to save Bollywood. So after the failure of Akshay, Ajay, Ranveer, Tiger, Shahid and John, Bollywood ke itne bure din aa gaye hai ki Kartik Aryan is supposed to save the film industry. But it's futile to expect too much from that film as well since Farhad Samji is the writer and Anees Bazmee is the director and we all know what type of films they make.

Movie would take good opening because of franchise value but then go down because of poor word of mouth because it's likely going to be crap.

Karthik has star power what a joke?

It depends on script than promotions only than star to get audience

After RRR and KGF2 where people have seen those movies repeatedly, nobody is interested to watch.

Heropanti trailer sucked.

Jersey should have been a direct ott release and so did Runaway.

Bachchan Pandey and Jayesh trailers were okay and evoked mixed reactions but the product was bad.

Same thing for Bhool , if it manages to be an above average flick with some humour and funny scenes it will do well.

Else it will tank.

Then south is far ahead.

Acharya might have tanked but got almost 40 crore + opening.

Same with the Mahesh Babu starrer which has received mix reviews but day 1 opening is almost 30+ crores.

I think Bhool bhulaiya 2 will open better.. let’s see…

Ranveer is not finished his previous 83 earned 12cr at the box office first day(I know it flopped but the collections were better than this)

Jayeshbhai trailer was not that good

Shahid should stop doing endless remakes

Tiger cannot act and is becoming repetitive

Kartik is boring and BB is a sequel

83 flopped and Jayeshbhai is a major dud but Ranveer cannot be written off. 83 felt too long and came across as a sports drama. Jayeshbhai stood no chance with outdated story and flat direction. The treatment of the movie was not good and it was not entertaining for me. He has a pretty good line up. He def has a fanbase which he can capitalise on if he picks good scripts and acts well.

Kartik is not a crowdpuller at all, same goes with Shahid. Kartik particularly has no versatility, plays himself in every movie. He would be in good standing only if he goes for both commercial and off beat cinema. People will only flock to theaters for their movies for the content. Point in case being Jersey. It was a decent movie but Shahid has no dedicated fanbase to carry him, hence turned out to be a dud.

Tiger is a one trick monkey. Repetitive stunts and remakes. Ain't nothing to look at.
