'she does nothing for heroes'...😂 completely agree....that's why doing more female centric movies will def increase her credibility....

part of me still wishes Parineeti's sense of choosing movies was half as good as Alia's....she was so good in most of her rom coms and looked good opp almost everyone

as for Alia given how career driven she is, I believe she will end up with some really good movies in her filmography

that would be a career suicide. No A list actor will be interested to play lead opposite with an actress who plays female centric movies. I don’t know why

PC, Kangana, Vidya, ……

SRK has stated that in the beginning of ones career, one should stay away from intelligent films..you get stuck, and people won't accept you in regular mainstream films.

He was right..

Parineeti’s problem isn’t her lack of script sense. Her problem is her lack of KJo mentorship. It’s like Aishwarya said a few years ago, it’s very easy to do well when all these great scripts are literally falling in her lap.

Alia is a good actress. Very hard working and even more ambitious. She’s got a great filmography and I’m sure she’ll do even more great films. But the question will always remain, where would she be without KJo? Anything she accomplishes going forward will be connected to what she’s accomplished so far, and everything she’s accomplished so far is connected to Karan Johar openly and blatantly favoring her over others. Ultimately that will be Alia Bhatt’s legacy. The fact that she didn’t reach where she’s reached on her own but rather has been elevated there by Karan Johar. And that’s a sad twist of irony for a girl who’s all about being considered the best and the greatest.

Okay I think I didn't put my point across correctly...when I said Alia's career will be enviable I meant she will have good films when looking back both commercial and serious genre....a mix that most of the actresses dream about...didn't mean she would be one of the finest and best actresses.

I only heard about DZ being offered to Pari but don't know of others....Kjo literally pushed Alia down everyone's throats and made her career lobbying for her. True if Pari had half the support that Alia had she would have been one of the best today. but sadly Pari started to focus too much on her looks instead of her acting

When they appeared together on KWK SRK basically told her too much happened for her too soon and at too young of an age.

DZ was Katrina’s role before she was dropped like a hot potato, no pun intended. Udta Punjab was offered to Pari. And I believe SLB was planning Gangu with PC.

I do agree that Pari completely lost focus. Her insecurity got the better of her unfortunately. In some ways she did suffer from the same delusion as Alia in wanting to be the next sexy glam queen. I guess this is also a good case study in the difference between how YRF handles their talent vs how Dharma does.

Aloo is doing great at this point of her career both in terms of acting and saleability. There is no doubt about it and no point debating it also.

However, I agree with the member here who has stated that Aloo's filmography is so carefully curated , unlike say a Deepika's whose filmography has a Race, Housefull, a desiboyz thrown here and there.

A a lot of Telugu actors from filmi families also very carefully choose their directors, music directors, heroines and item numbers even, right from then beginning of their career. Might not work everytime, but curated nevertheless. The problem here is, it seems that KJo plays a big role in her career and this is something that doesn't sit too well with me. Even at a philosophical level, I feel a superstar is someone who can make decisions for themselves and stand by them. Alia might have been disappointed with RRR but she displayed it out and out which she could have easily avoided, things like these reveal the strength and attitude of a person.

At the end of the day there is a reason why SRK is SRK, we love the success stories, but it is the struggle story which we root for. Aur wohi na ho toh kya maza? When you are at your lows, it is your previous struggles and owning upto your failures that keep you afloat.

Also I don't understand, Alia has no contemporaries per se, she has juniors(all annoying kids who idolize her) , she has seniors, but barely anyone who is a true contemporary. Ek parineeti thi, she has vanished, Sonakshi has now moved on to web (and rightfully so) and what happened to Shraddha? What a weird thing, an industry as big and not enough 'good' actresses being cast in films even.
