Borani Banjan (Afghan Eggplant Dish)

Boloni (Filled with either potato, leek or pumpkin). It is essentially a flatbread that is stuffed with a variety of ingredients and then fried. You eat it with either yoghurt or chutney.

All gravy dishes can be eaten with Afghan bread or with chalaw (white rice) or palao.

I'm setting this post aside for future reference.😆 I haven't explored Afghan food much.

Those names will def. come in handy my next trip, thank you. Someone needs to come up with a London and NY guide just for desi food. It's super overwhelming being there and not knowing where to go.

I also tried Nando's there. Keeping in line with the thread, I can see myself ordering takeouts at Nando's every other day if there was one where I live. 😆

I hate the lack of options here. -_- literally every single menu has the same five items - chicken tikka, butter chicken, paneer tikka, saag paneer, and some mixed curry, most of it thickened with cream. 😵

For desi food, a few names that come to mind are..

Venue 5

Blue Ginger

Mumbai Junction

Sun & Sand

Brilliant

For purely Indian Veg restaurant you have, only ones I use, both in Wembley.

Sakooni

Mumbai Local

The best Indian restaurants are in north-west London, like Harrow, Wembley, Kingsbury avoid north London, terrible Indian restaurants.

Nothing beats inside scoops from locals ☺️.... thank you. I'm gonna have to bookmark this thread to come back and take notes... like actual notes for later on. 😆

Go to Ealing Road in Wembley, you'll feel like you're in India, full of Gujjus. They even have "Don't spit paan" boards there. 🤣 You can even see one in this video 😆 full of Indian shops, clothes, food stalls, etc

Since you eat Non-Veg then the recommendations will be much different. Hit me up whenever you feel like trying it and I’ll send you a list of what to order. I’ll find everyone an Afghan restaurant. I even found one for Heisenberg to visit while I sat on my Australian ass, oceans away. 😆
