For some reason, the show works because it is British, or royalty. Nahi toh it's every Bollywood movie ever made, especially Mujhse Dosti Karoge types. I skipped S1 and S2 bhi 1.5x speed se dekha and it's a good one time watch if you like romantic drama.

But making something like that would be Bhansali'a dream, imagine a webshow and har wevshow mein ek jhoomar🤩

People here diss everything popular to stand out and be cool. I loved Bridgerton. It’s cheesy and truly Indian tv serials type but has a certain charm that Indian tv lacks. I especially loved Mr and Mrs Viscount. John and Simone chemistry was over the roof.

Just casting those I can. And it’s for fun don’t take it serious.

It's a travesty. In a bid to be finally fair and give some due and equal importance to colored people, they came out with this cheesy eccentric "Alice down the Rabbit Hole" version of Regency England. By doing so, they are appropriating someone else's history(in this case British). At the same time they are wiping out the atrocities against black people and Asians that was going on at that time in Real History.

And yes, the books are far better.

Its cheesy and cliche. One time watch. The season 1 couple were cute.

Have not read the books.So can't comment on that. Giving important roles and to coloured people is much needed but incorporating them in the cast of a drama regency era is a bad idea. It feels weird. All the coloured cast members are really good looking but still it can't wipe away the history atrocities committed against them.

But they should give representation to the coloured people in contemporary dramas. May be it is time for a coloured person to play M16 agent James Bond.

But, to answer your question, no, sorry I just cannot imagine any other star cast and especially in the roles of Anthony and Kate. If you put a gun to my forehead maybe I would say Radhika Apte for Kate but no way in hell or heaven can anyone replace Jonathan Bailey. He was born TO play Viscount Bridgerton ❤️
