Okay, I finally got some time to sit and think and lol, this is what I chose to think about this fine monday afternoon! I've been reading several opinions and i thought instead of replying separately, I'll compile my thoughts on the situation. Basically, I'm reacting to criticism of Anu's character, not of the show. I agree with all views against the show's bad writing and bad editing. They need to get their act together.

Criticism I agree with:

* The sharmana is OTT and very cringe - please show more yearning and affection- he's your fiance ffs.

* She should NOT be in shah house - there is no reason to be in shah house, grow some guts and get out of there!

* She should NOT be taking care of ANY kitchen and other house chores all the time -she did this at Anuj's house and I hated it, and she does this at Shah house and I hate it.

*Stop the baa jap: respecting elders is different from harboring affection towards an abuser. It is not good behaviour to love people who are horrible to you, and it sets a very bad standard.

Criticism I disagree with:

*She comes with too much baggage unlike Anuj - She shouldn't be expected to not have baggage - she does and she's always been honest about it. Anuj has always known about it, and nobody forced him to be with her - he's in this with his eyes open. Also, Anuj isn't exactly stepping in with a new empty backpack - the way he responds to her is clearly because of the baggage he carries. He's desperate for a full family.

*Because she does things at Shah house kitchen it's an insult to Anuj: I don't see how Anuj is insulted in this process. He isn't her owner or keeper to have some sort of connected ego. When she stayed at Anuj's house also she acted exactly the same way - taking over the household, making things for not just anuj but also GK and mukku. It seems to be what she does. Nobody asked whether it was insulting to Anuj then.

*She doesn't say I love you, or express emotion enough - so she doesn't really love Anuj:

However stupid it seems to us (which is really really stupid) - they've scripted her to express love through sharmana (i know, it's really yuck), she did this even when she was with V (Oh God was that cringe). So I really don't see a reason to doubt whether she loves him. Nor do I think she takes him for granted. They've shown us enough to believe that she appreciates all that he does (even though they don't script a thank you).

*She cares for the shahs so she doesnt really love Anuj: Anupama has put aside her feelings due to mukku as well, and has stayed back at Anuj's house for her sake, gave up her financial security to save Anuj's relationship with his sister - these are according to me clearly acts of love. I think sometimes we're frustrated due to the general bad writing, it is easy to accuse her of not loving him.

I agree to most of it but here's why it looks like Anu takes anuj for granted and that she prioritizes shahs over anuj

Whenever anuj or mukku try to point out baa's mistake she immediately shuts them up by reprimanding them

But when baa ,toshu , vanraj or even Rd for that matter hurls abuse at the kapadia's she suddenly turns meak and helpless...

We all saw what treatment Rd got from Anu for disrespecting baa babuji and but when Rd insulted him she just stood there watching it happen...

Anu jumps in to defend vanraj whenever any of the kids behave rudely with him...but toshu literally pushed anuj in the fight ,shouts at his face, she should have reprimanded him for his behavior but instead she brings haldi milk for toshu...

Anuj has expressed his dislike for her staying at shah house, requested her not once but several times to leave the house...but she never pay heeds to him...

Anu constantly talks to anuj about how her family is so important to her...

Anuj is constantly afraid of loosing Anu because she's yet to give him reason to believe that he comes above in her priority list.....
