Frankly speaking, Adi is slightly a complex character to play. He is not a rich business man template that itv usually brings. He is a normal next door guy who is very much vulnerable like any normal human being and is prone to do mistakes just like any of us. The utmost dialogue Adi has in this show is Imlie hamari patni hai. I feel it is the label the socicety gives.) Though thr Tripatis who seems to be treating everyone equally succumbed to the socicety’s pressure when the time came to accept Imlie as their Bahu. Adi became a hero not by punch dialogues or slow motion walks but by breaking the shackles of thoughts of the socicety and accepted Imlie as his wife. He became a hero when he didn’t judge Imlie for her looks, clothes, her background.This story was actually a pathbreaking story according to me. Adi is such a complex story to protray as he didn’t became an instant hero. He slowly overcome his fears and ego and made himself a hero. Gash understood the psyche of this character very well and portrayed it perfectly to the dot. He had been living as Ad for one year. It is very u fair to except MV to portray such a complex character by entering in the middle of the story where the character arc of Adi has been made downhill for the story to continue. I feel the makers should have ended Adi’s character gracefully upon Gash’s exit.

Actually You bring in the most important aspect of the original show. Breaking the class divide in India. accepting a house help as ones equal and life partner. Aditya's acceptance of imlie would have been all that If only, makers had stuck to the original script from the bengali but I guess that would have been too much to ask from ITV. not enough sauten drama and mera pati dialogue

it was the most horrible episode beginning to end.. and this dialogue made me cringe.. these ITV makers kissi ke saagey nahi hai. I wonder what is going to happen..imagine, AKT being locked in his room by his mom in that duplicate dulha sherwani and then coming out of the room " A changed MAN" like quite LITERALLY.

I fast forwarded those scenes I beleive. Nowadays if Meeti opens her mouth I will ff the scenes. It is the problem with the writing, the characters Imlie, meeti are sounding really hollow now. I cringe at Imlie monologue about Aditya sir. I feel like saying girl please shut ur mouth and do whatever ur want, but don’t tell me u r doing sacrifices for Aditya sir. Nobody asked u to do so. You could even talk to him properly after PF, I understand ur pain. But don’t tell me u r sacrificing for him. Imlie has got this mahaan syndrome. She will do all this sacrifices and then say I am the victim here. She is been the most annoying and far from real character I have seen so far.

I feel that the dearth of Imlie Aditya scenes post Gm leaving are due to 2 things:

1. Makers want to keep establishing Arylie as Endgame. ( I am here for that)

2. Lack of chemistry between ST and MV. New Adi is just soooo woooden.. no one can say he has not been given chances. he has enough screen space after introduction. not just with imlie... but with all other cast members.. but none of the scenes were impactful.. That scene where he is supposed to ask Imlie's forgiveness after outing Malini.. I cannot see it without cringing

Imlie had to resort to became a house help because Adi was coward.

Dont think original script would have worked in Hindi or ITV audience. In original, Maini was not negative. N in ITV she was turned into vamp to justify the unfairness happened to her n get acceptance for lead. And also Adi n Malini charcter had proper marriage for Almost 7 months..later he realised his love for Imlie.

Exactly. I was too young to watch the original. But i clearly remember the Baha Saree craze during durga puja.. Also I remember Malini wala character having an amazing arc of finding love with another guy, fighting cancer, having a kid etc. Her story was very strong and also, her chemistry with her second husband was on 🔥 by Bengali TV standards.

@ bold - I have a friend like that - she has 'mahanata' syndrome and ends up having more on her plate than she can handle. .... now in her early 40's having 3 major health problems... everyone praises her...(what use of it? ) she is not in condition to enjoy her own life fully 😔

You are spot on again. I think it very unfair to criticise Manasvi so much. I am sure I was not the only viewer who said that Gash did not show enough emotion on his face many times. He said he had a reason for that though I cannot remember exactly what he said now. So Manasvi moving into the role of Aditya was simply following his lead. Adi seldom had a face full of emotions no matter what the situation. He showed his feelings when Imlie was around more and more. So not fair to say Manasvi is wooden with no acting, when he is following the previous actor.

I was annoyed to read in the WU that 'dear' 'saintly' Aryan hurt himself rescuing gifts from Meethi. But it has to be remembered that Adi respected his Amma a lot, still trying to do so after he and Imlie split and if he had been there when her stuff went in the fire then he would have leapt in regardless of his safety to rescue Meethi's things. Not just precious b🤬y Aryan.
