It's almost as if she has no intelligence left.

Yeah, you don't owe Aryan love or marriage, but Jesus Christ! Do you have no guilt whatsoever for trying to marry him off to a stranger? This tashan is not cute or fair anymore.

*louder for the people in the back*

Also I remember feeling uncomfortable at how she was easily accepted as a servant in her in laws house solely because of her caste. What I mean is if Aditya and Malini had gotten accidentally married in some trip - neither Aditya would've had the guts to make her a househelp nor would anyone assume so.

So it was problematic that that set up was there ages ago - considering she had bigger dreams and all... and this promo is just distasteful in every sense possible.

And the less I say about Imlie shaking hands with someone who wanted to marr her skin, the better. Like they gave no thought to what was a terrible act! Lol and if I hear them calling Blue Aunty as someone who isn't that dil ki buri... 🤬

Oh my God exactly. I was trying to get my thoughts together after the promo and you have worded it perfectly. I don't even know what more to add cause what you've said says everything. I'm afraid they're taking every bit of nuance Imlie had and just going to the broader strokes of - she's a teenager who's going to do irrational mistakes - but a lot of her background and understanding is being swept under the rug for this one promo.

Yes there's a battlefield of sorts playing, and Imlie has become hyper focused on 'defeating' Aryan - but it has only increased everyone's frustration because her character has absolutely seen NO growth in the past one month.

And this promo is so off beat and out of tone due to a number of reasons that I won't attempt to rewrite because you've done a marvelous job at what was pinching about the video.

Also considering caste and economic class... the tone deafness of this promo couldn't be a lot.

PS: I absolutely loved all the disclosures you put in. Very lawyer like. Ah... that reminds me of KC *sad*

The tone-deafness aside, the underlying casteism and classism this promo has triggered in a large section of the audience online are truly disgusting. From calling her names to pretending that Aryan's wife/an educated woman is too good to be a domestic worker. Whatever the hell that means.

As if being a domestic worker renders you unworthy of and ineligible for love and respect. People need to check their own privileges, man.

The fact about how easily Imlie was accepted as a "naukrani" in the T household was very well done. Like, it doesn't even take a second for them to go from asking about Aadhar card to ask whether she knows household chores to this literal highschooler.

No questions about her education or wages or even a proper room for her to inhabit. Dhruv's bratty children calling her potli "Chudail ki potli" just shows how lacking the Ts are in upbringing. At that, the very fine, just, gareebon-ka-maseeha-journalist-who-doesn't-interview-shallow-actresses says "aap yeh sab dekh lijiye, hum bohut thak chuke hain apne kamre mein jaa rahe hain."

I know Aryan will always be antithetical to this but the promo is soooooooooooo heartbreaking
