Good Lord !! this is a master piece. I really enjoyed reading it and I must say its after a long time that I am reading something that has forced my brain to come out of hibernation. This also shows how involved you are with books and I hope you stay that way always. Many a times people like us have forgotten that path and have been travelling blindly on a path that the fate designed for us . As much as we love to read but sometimes our mind is just not prepared to hold that book in the hand because its kind of lost in the struggles and juggles of life. Its writings like these that awaken us and remind us that no matter what path that the fate has designed for us, one should never let go of books. Because books give us insights, broadens our horizons and perspectives into directions that are so beautiful and unimaginable.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. ⭐️👍🏼

Both the pieces are beautiful… very deep and thought provoking. Really admire the way you have discovered their characters… layer by layer… relating each intricate gesture, words spoken and unspoken.

Not sure if the makers put in so much thought & depth as you have derived from the story and the scenes. Honestly, I don’t think any EM show has so much of thought behind it… but the way you have described and covered it makes me want to re-watch a lot of episodes from a different perspective.

A big thank you. This is very very beautiful. I loved the literature references throughout esp. North and South ( one of my most fav ever). It also reminds me of a song by the Ink Spots which sums up your analysis very well , i would like to share - ‘ A rose must remain with the sun and the rain, Or it’s lovely promise won’t come true, to each his own, to each his own, And my own is you.’

Doodle, you star, I do like your references. You even got in Emily Dickinson, and so aptly used.

Did the rose thing happen in the show or did you weave it into make your point? Nvm, I can guess the answer.

It is very good to have Priya's angst explained, because I've read far too many criticize her attitude and bring in Sara, who is all happy (and, by God, as thick as 2 planks, I sometimes think) with similar experiences (did her husband ever show up?) and maybe less luck in finding a rich, blue-eyed boy to marry.

Priya's past is neither impossible to overcome, nor the greatest tragedy of all time. However, each person develops a mindset from their experiences, and Priya's is to hide herself, protect herself and her pride. And when you are the strong one in a family of women (or even men and women) who seem pretty unable or unwilling to confront, you do become tough and peremptory, mistrustful and aggressive. But, I've noticed, Priya is rarely loud. She speaks her truth "quietly and clearly". I didn't have much hope of her lasting as she started out, and I'm glad she mostly has.

I'd never have expected Disha to be able to do justice to Priya. I'd seen her for a bit in PKD (as usual, dumped it early on), and she didn't impress me much in her largely generic role. But I am very pleased at how she's pulled off Priya. It's not that I don't like Ram or Nakuul, but Ram gets more free passes than Priya, because, I suspect, he has a gaggle of fangirls, more females watch shows than do men, and girls go a little nuts if their favourite, usually the lead with a better sm presence, doesn't get the best of the deal.

I loved your reminders of early dialogues I'd forgotten. I loved your construction of Priya's trajectory. Another excellent piece.

Listen doodsie,

this is tapping that side of Color analyst (psychologically and otherwise) in me…

There were principles of cinema and Color organically playing in the initial 45ish episodes… I don’t know if they did it consciously or not… but it was good.. not superlatively, but as per current standards, it was good.

It reminded me of Gorky’s (I think?)handling of single tear drop of Geet(one of my fav scenes) , but in a smooth flow manner.. gorky cuts and emphasises the important, giving perspective with respect to character.

In here, they were pouring in characters, their principles, paths, pinings, pricks, people, parts shattered yet savoured, prances, peeves and prides all together… making the protagonists collide as his friends wish for him and her people taunting her… we were served a lasagna to break into flavours and parts. Had it been not a soap, but simple loooong story establishment act, and we sit through that and realise the effort that went into it, is actually that good!

Coming to the Color and circumstance and connections, I will definitely come back here soon, may be by then Priya’s will be done!

But, but, but! 🙈 can’t go without actually putting up something…☺️

This has been used in golden girls series… “feeling magenta” by Blanche! I am cnp ing the dialogue script here 😆

Dorothy: And I was feeling jealous and Ionely and... God knows what else.

Blanche: Magenta.

Dorothy: Excuse me?

Blanche: Magenta. That's what I call it when I get that way. All kinds of feelings tumbling all over themselves. Well, you know, you're not quite blue because you're not really sad and although you're a little jealous, you wouldn't say you're green with envy and every now and then you realize you're kinda scared but you'd hardly call yourself yellow. I hate that feeling. I just hate it. And I hate the color magenta. That's why I named it that. Magenta. No way to really explain it but, fortunately, between friends, you don't have to.

Magenta is kinda the perfect color to use for a made-up feeling🤭

Dayyum, I so like what you wrote, and that last line is a zinger.

Thank you so much! My pleasure. ❤️

Yes, books are my life. You are correct in your inference. When they grow up, people forget to pick up a book for leisure reading. After a day's hard work, I feel there is nothing more comforting than to pick up a book and immerse in it. I doubt if there is any day in my life when I do not find books on my bedside table.

I am so glad you loved it. You are kind to call it a masterpiece; I won't. smiley36
