Europe used to be a war zone until the end of world war 2. European countries caused wars world wide. Now it looks like history is repeating itself. Wars have started in Europe starting from Ukraine and Russia. Ireland wants independence from Great Britain. There are so many separatist movements in Europe.

First of all of that quote is at the very least wrong. I gave examples of wars in Europe in the past 100 years alone. I mean, Europe is where they the Holocaust and massacre of 6 million Jews happened.

Maybe he was talking about recent times. He isn't wrong there (unless you consider the Balkan wars) but wars in Middle East and Africa are a constant reality, which isn't the case in Europe.

Under no circumstance can this quote be considered "racist" when it had no racial overtones.

thats not what I meant...what i understood from his words is that it is not something people of his generation went through. Before the Ukraine war, there was a series of wars in muslim countries, the less powerful ones. All these were initiated by the west.

The young royals live in a bubble, I doubt he cares much...it only matters now as its closer to home, their home. they didnt care much about Rohingyas or afghans or iraqis or yemenis.

btw, remember when Prince Harry went to fight the war in Afghan? All he did was sit around and wait with his 4 or 5 bodyguards and yet this so-called achievement gave him a medal and is on his CV as a legitimate achievement!

Nope. Sorry. I completely disagree here.

First of all the premise that he was talking about recent times sounds like a very weak public relations cover up. But even if he was, how the hell does one not count the Balkan war? Over 100000 Muslims were massacred. There were mass rapes of Muslim women by Serbian soldiers. Over 2 million displaced. It was a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions. How in the four letter word does a grow ass prince who is on the verge of becoming a crown prince and a statesman not think of the Balkan war? To borrow his own words, it happened so close to him. His own mother was in Bosnia as part of a Land Mines Survivors network right before her death. Give me a break.

Yes, this statement was absolutely 100% racist. In the same way that all those reporters or even government officials in the past two weeks have been racists. All the talks about this war being different because this is a different civilization than Iraq and Afghanistan, and these blonde hair blue eyed refugees are not Muslims. They are all, including William, looking at this from the lens of this is happening to our own people and not those dark skinned people in Asia or Africa. That’s racist.

Should we do a quick history course of what role Europe has played in the wars of Middle East and Africa? There is a reason these regions have been volatile in recent decades and Europe is a huge part of that, of not the main reason.
