Is Hum Tum a problematic film?

I think this has never been discussed. In Hum Tum, Karan kissed Rhea without her consent when they were practically strangers. Being a flirt and womanizer is one thing, but this is straight up sexual harassment.

Can a woman actually forget what he did and ever be comfortable with a guy like that, leave alone falling in love with him? What does this say about Karan?

He's portrayed as some player in the movie, but did an act of a creep. The movie also shows the act as something funny and later on Karan and Rhea even joke about it.

I believe the only reason this film isn't criticized enough is because the lead is not SRK😆, and maybe this is the only problematic thing he did in the movie. But it's still enough to put him in the list of Rajs, Rahuls, Maddys, Amans, other 90s and early 2000s heroes.

No one even remembers him forcing a kiss on her without her consent ... so it escapes public outrage. The movie also came out at a time when social media hadn't over-saturated the world.

The funniest part was later on karan and Rhea met again and she messed w his date. He tried telling the date that “I hardly met this woman”

I remember it vaguely .... it was a stupid movie that made no sense to me, frankly speaking. 😳

I remember when this happened, all the men laughed in the cinema...I remember being shocked that they thought it was funny! someone actually said: good he showed her her place!

that kiss didnt really happen in real life did it? Cause I remember Rani complaining to Saifu in an interview last year that she really didnt want to kiss him in that Hum Tum title track. The producer forced them to do it, she didnt want to do it and was trying to persuade Saifu to not want to do it too.

That's concerning, cause Rani is saying she was forced to do it...and it was the tharki producer who thought the kiss MUST happen at all cost..

Guess who the producer was? Mr India! aka Aditya Chopra aka Mr Rani Mukerji!

You made me go and watch that scene again. It does look like a camera trick and it seems they didn't actually kiss.
