They haven't started making him negative, he was always meant to be the villian/grey character. Anyone coming with a revenge agenda is not a white character. So it isn't something that the audience wasn't expecting. Given the way they have crafted his character so far, showing him to be calculative and always thinking a step ahead, reading people and their potential reactions in a given situation, these are traits that make him appealing to his fans.
To make him white, they either need to make him mahaan and make him forgive Aditya, or show Aditya innocent (both of which are easy ways out for the CVs), which then shows that Aryan was following the whole revenge plan on the basis of halfbaked information – and it doesn't look well on him. So, instead of turning Aryan white, we'd rather have him continue with his revenge agenda, by hook or by crook to retain his original appeal.
I mean, if Imlie and Aditya can be flawed characters and revered by fans, why can Aryan not be grey and loved?
