Get Out and Us are a new genre of horror movie - Jordan Peele (who, with Keegan Michael Key, is part of a hysterically funny comic duo) basically decided to take the horror inherent in racism against Black people and sublimate it into dark horror comedies. If you haven't seen Us, I highly recommend it (but ok maybe Google it first in case you decide to block me if you don't like it)
Babadook also had a message (maybe similar to Lost daughter in some ways?) but it worked well as straight horror too.
My horror go-tos are typically Clive Barker, Ramsey Campbell and Stephen King but probably the most elegant horror novel I've ever read is Shirley Jackson's 'Haunting of Hill House'. My gosh if you ever decide to read that, I'd love to discuss. It's very short and deceptively simple.
I have seen The Babdook and Get Out. Get Out was amazing.
I hate horror movies because I get shit scared and I can't sleep for a month. If it's really good horror, I mean.
Babadook we watched as a group with lights off and all and I was still shit scared.
If someone suggests a good horror movie and if I am watching it alone, my process is read the Wikipedia page first, watch it in the daylight, muting it when the scene gets intense. š¤£
I don't remember the last time I watched a horror movie. š
OMG that's GENIUS!! 𤣠š¤£
Ugh their outfits are so sasta... shirt unbuttoned down to there and a corset for the love of Peteš¤¢

But you brought so much to the discussion! And at least I didn't make you watch Freshš
In return I'll watch any movie you want me to and come here to discuss it. (Hint: maybe something about starvation or hard labor might cause me a similar amount of discomfort...)
Ayyo!
Chill Chill.
I am just kidding. You suggest away, I will watch jt if I feel upto it. š

The urge to slap that silly user for her stupid comment!
Popping back in to say you should watch the Black Mirror episode 'Arkangel' on Netflix - it's all about obsessive motherhood. Would be fun to discuss. It's only about an hour or maybe 45 min.
Ok now I'm REALLY going - ciao bellas!

I watched US too. But I haven't really understood it probably because I wasn't really paying attention. But it was so bone chilling. Should rewatch it but have no idea when I will be upto it. š
Yeah, Babadook was talking about mental illness I guess especially depression?
Thriller and horror are not a genre I find myself attracted to. Isn't there a show on Netflix called Haunting of The Hill House? Can I just watch it or is the book better like most cases? š
