Gangubai was a major DISAPPOINTMENT

I just watched it on the big screen.

What the hell has Sanjay Bhansali made? First half was still watchable, second half was an absolute mess.

Alia did justice to whatever she was given, but I'm not watching the film to watch her histrionics. I'm watching the film for a story where her histrionics would take it forward. Nuh uh, did not happen.

I agree 100%. I was also very dissappointed when I had watched it. SLB screwed up big time with longer running time, bad music and fake looking sets. I personally like Alia but i thought she was excellent in some parts and ok in others.

Finally some honest nonbiased reviews 👏 otherwise I was worried that soon Alia will sneeze and people here will compare her to Madhuri

95% of Bhansali movies are disappointment.

I remember devdas getting mocked at Cannes film festival. when the finale of paro running thru those never ending RED corridors of some taaj mahal...I simply walked out of theatre. I did not even stay to watch devdas taking his final breath. such a torture it was. but hey it was a massive hit and Bhansali was hailed as THE SHOWMAN.😆

His last outing Padmaavat was a disastrous attempt too...not talking about boxoffice. thank lord for the never ending controversies.

The very first thought came into my mind after coming out of Gangubai ...thank lord....choti alia bhat saved this one from major tanking at the box-office. even Ranjan Bhardwaj agrees to some extent to this claim of mine.

at least this is Bhansali's one of least expensive movie and he did not spend 3 years in making...its only due to covid it got stuck. and Bhansali's previous heroines fans are claiming that alia is wearing recycled dresses of their favourites. so in that case ..if movie is a hit ....kudos to alia....recycle hi sahi...parr teer sahi nishaaneh peh laghi hai.

Most of SLB's movies are disasters...😆..as long as Alia came out with flying colors...I think Devdas is his worst...

Having said this maybe u didn't like Gangubai...but it has been liked in general and Alia's performance has been praised to the skies.....

Its OK....no movie has ever been accepted by 100% of the audience...as long as majority likes it...its all OK.

Madhuri is a good actor...I am just saying Alia is way better than her....after Gangubai...I won't hesitate putting her in Kangna, Vidya and PC's league...
