Maybe you are right Diya, but the constant references in the last few episodes is making me think that and there is a good reason - due to Shaheer's new show. In the UK it is slotted in for the same time as YRKKH so already RS is aware international viewers will have conflict in watching his two shows on 2 different channels and he cannot be pleased about it. YRKKH is his flagshow and he will do as much as possible to keep it going. Also this will retain old viewers and giving them a link to a well loved couple. I've seen it in this forum, people mention older stories and tracks and this just showed this is a very loved show. Linking them to a previous couple is not bad and should be logical in terms of story.

S3 is good but not doing well in terms of trps...I think it is in direct competition with another RS and DKP production on the same channel but I suppose this is a hazard of the occupation. But I think the issue with the writers is maybe making them do this as well.

Lol, I for one do not need the constant reminder! like you I know who is her mother and father and her grandparents were!🤣...she can have their personality, traits, genetic curiosity but not their relationship problems!🤣..I just want to see Abhira story as promised from the start of the resort track.🤗 I am also very curious now about Abhi and his dad, want some juicy story there. 😃

I fall in-between. I have seen previous season but not as a serious viewer. I walked away when I did not like a track and came back months or even years later and watched more before walking away again. My expectation of this s3 is similar to yours, and many others, I think. I wanted more seriousness, less songs and dances but I accepted it as part and parcel of Indian shows. There is no new tracks or plots. In fact according to some writers, there is only 7 plots and each writer takes one and gives it their own twists! so nothing wrong in using old tracks to reel in viewers but it must be fresh. There was some in S3 but it's now bordering on the old tried and tested and again for a reason, I'd say. When something works, why not use it again and again? viewers have become more savvy and know to wait it out.

I've read posts about the show writers doing merry go round and IMO it showed in the last two episodes. The tracks were laid for something slightly more serious/ more leaning towards the maturity and talks many were hankering for...then suddenly we got what we saw. They managed to use her original characterisation but showed her mother's trait to reel in fleeing viewers and to retain the love and loyalty shown by them over 13yrs - for them this was the reward they had been waiting and I do not begrudge this at all👏. However, It felt too abrupt, too sudden this change...if it happened few months down the line it would have been believable. My personal opinion is that this is where the switch happened. Writers have to stick to the character sheet (of each character) but they added their own stamp to it and hurried to the wedding track which should have been still some weeks, if not, a month away.

I sincerely hope there is no more writers mishap or changes...it does make for weird character changes that many find uncomfortable and unrelatable. There is hope though.

Abhira now no longer need to hide or fear someone standing against them. They can openly meet, date, spend all day/night together. They can talk for ages, come to one another's houses and etc. I really, really hope writers utilise this for S3 therefore adding some realism that many of us were hoping for. This will deepen the romance track that has been abysmal as it stopped midway and also ensure they get to know one another more and address the flaws and trauma each have shown one another.

Certainly, Akshu still has to address Abhi's trauma as per last friday's episode otherwise she would come across as totally blind to his needs, desires and emotions - and when your in a relationship, your partner's emotions is your top priority, to assuage their hurt and fears as you hold their heart in your hand. Also another reason - I mentioned reward before - well romance arc should reward readers/viewers with the belief that this is real love and these two couple are destined for forever. So far those of us waiting for this romance arc completion have not been rewarded😕😃. I for one do not consider marriage a reward as in this society arrange marriages happen as well.

@bold- I hope they do really concentrate on this bit and deliver... if not their relationship/marriage is looking doomed to me... I know in every relationship there is one person who loves/understands/compromises more than the other... but here Akshu is just looking selfish and taking Abhi for granted.

For the most part, I agree with the underlined sentence but using the season 2 lead and bringing back older generations will help them maintain veteran fans.

When season 3 began, it had two USPs - Harshad's fanbase and the existing YRKKH fandom.

YRKKH has been on the air for 13 years, not because it's an amazing show, but because those characters and their relations bring people in or help them overlook the show's flaws. There are a lot of ITV shows that are better in concept and execution but they barely last beyond a year because their fanbase, although loyal, wasn't large enough compared to other mega shows. For example, SAAKK, Ek Hasina thi, Yeh Un Dino Ki Baat Hai, IPKKND, and so many more amazing shows that had a relatively short life span.

Akshu's parentage wouldn't matter if it was a spinoff but it's not. It's a continuation of where season two left off with those preexisting issues - Aarohi's insecurities about Naira and Akshu, their strained relationship, Akshu's fight to be the daughter Naira imagined. For example, (for some very reason that I can't understand), SSK2 is doing very well w/o references to the previous generation (excluding the initial Deepika visit) because it doesn't build on the same family (one character from the OG was featured for two weeks and the other OG actress is playing a new character) or continuing where the first left off.

@ red...it will be doomed in real life but not here😃😆. We may get a repeat rinse of what Kaira went through. I sincerely hope we don't though. The only reason those kind of story was done is to keep viewers. Kaira had I think about 5 years. That is a lot in a daily show and after a while how do you keep the excitement and interest? why you break the star couple...then give another re-take in their love story...repeat...rinse.

I doubt HC will be here for five years so I think there may be an agreement in place to make sure Abhira story is finite or HC bows out after a year or 2 but either way the story needs to be one unique to them. Akshu is only selfish in that her experience is limited, she has always made it clear her family means a lot to her and she won't compromise...Abhi has seen it, hence his pain that he too wishes she thought of them as topmost priority. @ blue, love that and so true and I think this is what we are seeing. To Abhi, Akshu is his goal so as soon as he had the security of marriage acceptance nothing else matters.

But yeah, this issue will come back to bite them again...and again.

Since this is S3 I really expected some of these things to be incorporated. I am sure it will be but the fam jam will be tagging along as well! If I was writing this, this would be where Nerohi track would start taking seed. Maybe Kaisha as well.😕 I finally figured out why I'm not happy with the last couple - the girl playing Anisha looks to be too much for Kairav. If she is here as a positive then I want to see real scenes between them.

Nerohi, I know is not popular with many but I think if it happens there will be big changes to Arohi during it.

I love how clearly you have described Ak. Abhi has been witness to her family jaap from day 1 when he met her. And he wanted to be part of that world of hers, he wondered if she’d be able to love him as much as she did her family and sister. So as much as I feel for Abhi, he walked into this with his eyes wide open.
