Well, I was trying not to spoil for people who haven't read but I think it's beyond my skills 🤣 I spoiled it for almost all of my classmates who were reading the book or were about to read the book, and my best friend was one of them who taunts me till date. This time it's your fault though Pooja 😂🖐

I liked Gayle for Katniss in the book 1, and to some extent in Book 2 as well but Peeta was so different from all the MLs in general. He didn't have the male ego that turned to toxicity later in the case of Gale.

He was gentle and compassionate, something Katniss needed and I learned to recognize many months after reading the books. It's when I was growing up then I realized all these hypermasculine, tough guys aren't compatible to anyone in the real world. We need more guys like Peeta who listen and support women, exactly what Gayle didn't do. Katniss could have fought the battle alone, but it was only Peeta who could have handled the consequences.

It's dystopian in nature and a little sad but the writing style is really phenomenal. And for a young adult, I think it will give you the right amount of knowledge about revolution, like it will open up the doors for you to introspect on all the things wrong in our democracy/government.

So I would say go for it, at least Book 1 and 2.

Read the first one and that's about...I'm a pure shipper (when it comes YA lit) with love for non-canon ships (clearly I love suffering🥲) so when I got spoiled on how much Collins ruined the Everthorne friendship, I was out💨

I just can't get myself to like Peeta as a character tbh

Well after their 2nd hunger games together i never thought she'd be able to go back to guy#1.

There was so much of shared trauma that only they both could spend their life together, no one else would be able to understand them and hence both of them if pursued a relationship with another person would bound to fail

And while I do not like that it was not a free choice, it hardly makes me sad because Peeta is a man to Stan all the way.

Well if you didn't read all 3 books it's understandable that you do not connect to Peeta much, but i can say that he's worth the time.

Suzzane Collins (writer) and Everthorne is the ship name for Katniss and Gale

I've been spoiled so I know what happens to him and I still can't find it in me to care about him tbh.

It doesn't help that the next two books become more focused on Peeta/Katniss and a love triangle so I just abandoned it after starting book 2.

I'm tired of love triangles

Only a piece or two....I spent years on that ship, Sirius/Remus and James/Lily (Jily is one of the few canon couples I actually support, majority of my ships never sail🤣)
