No, that was the case few decades ago. Today US is as important as Russia for India. US or west is not threatening India to speak against Russia so India is safe for now. But when Trump asked India to not buy oil from Iran, India agreed even when India gets much cheaper oil from Iran. Because USA is damn important for India especially against China now.

Modi doesn't have any love for Putin. It is not about love, hate, friends in international relations. It is just about strategic alliances for our own interest.

PS: The World's economy depends on China, not the other way around. If they had it in them to cut China off, they would have a long long time ago. India even after straight up aggression from China, didn't have it in them to ban chinese products.

Their exports amount to 18 TRILLION Yuan, almost18% if their GDP and most of it is in the West. Of it gets shut off, China will die. The West will have some supply chain problems, but it will pick up within months just as easily as it picked up when China did that during the initial phases of pandemic.

Russia's big money maker is oil. Yes, the West has tied its own hands. But U.S. still has the most natural gas reserves in the world, has more than enough oil internally to support itself.

Those are facts.

Yes, the West will suffer in a war with these 2. But it will be a suicide mission for China and Russia. And then there will be countries like India which get dragged into the conflict from no fault of their own.

Lol. Biden didn’t do it re baba. America doesn’t work that way. It’s done by a private company Pfizer which makes it’s own decisions. They also didn’t block the supply or anything but wanted to send the entire vaccines which India didn’t want to accept. Eventually Biden intervened and made sure India got it’s raw material.

Not only does the conflict stand a greater chance of spreading to India and the Middle East than to the West, Indian economy will take a nosedive. China is extremely self reliant. 60% of its grown happened domestically. Its set to become the biggest economy in the next decade. Its the manufacturing hub of the world. Its the biggest creditor of the US, meaning the US owes China Trillions of dollars. Here's some good reads to get up to date.

China is unstoppable. Not buying from China would be a massive blow to the world economy. The prices would easily double. Nobody is doing China a favor here....even after Covid the world keeps doing business with China because they have no choice. The world is highly dependent on China.

I just find it hilarious when Americans come & try to lecture the world on human right violations, violence, war & invasions. Like the US isn't the greediest, most aggressive & violent nation in the world. But its only an Invasion when Russia does it. Destroying Iraq forever doesn't count? Invading Panama for a canal doesn't count? Feeding the Afghans to the wolves doesn't count? Leaving Ukraine to dry doesn't count?

The Americans aren't the good guys like Hollywood will have you believe & India isn't going to condemn Russia because Biden wants them to....just like they didn't condemn the Iraq invasion.

I was responding to nonpareil's idea that China is begging India for something. Trust me... the Chinese are doing this to cover their backsides with the West. And also because they recognize a war in the region would affect t them more than it affects Europe or the U.S.
