That's because tv serials are way too dependent on trps and they ruin the concepts by bringing nonsensical drama and end up ruining their own shows. Even Saraswati Chandra which kinda looked like inspired from hum dil de chuke sanam was turned into a typical daily soap.

Agree with the list except for Naagin. The series is a massive hit. In fact, I loved my cheels 🦅 🤣

Saraswatichandra is originally n acclaimed novel written by Govardharam Tripathi.

Nutan starred in n old black n white movie based on the novel..it had amazing songs...

Main to bhool chali babul ka des

Chhod de saari duniya kisi ke liye

Chandan sa badan ..

Show was also based on that but eventually deviated

Yup! The show was based on novel and the sets and costumes were inspired from HDDCS. Whatever it is, star plus ne novel aur movie, dono ka kachra kar diya. 😆
