Sometimes I find it hard to enjoy music if I don't know the language at all. There are some exceptions - like classical music/opera. Opera lyrics are often terrible and cliche when translated in English and only sound good in Italian😆 And I like Spanish rap even if I don't understand all the words!

Yes Anupama is very much a more worthy show to spend time on.. If it weren't for this CC and before that for the members posts and bakwaspolice gifs, I wouldn't give this pathetic parody of a show a second glance.

To be honest, I don't exactly know what is light reading anymore. Any book I pick up these days, have some political commentary going on and these forced attempts to make it feel important.

I am currently reading "Savi The Memory Keeper" which is an young adult fiction about climate change and loss.

I need a break from the reading for my classes and to disengage my brain from work to stop myself from completely burning out. Coming on here has been doing that well. A little too well actually, ha!

But I haven't read for pleasure since Thanksgiving break. I'd like to crack open a book but it can't be too hefty - I don't think I can handle political commentary or anything sociological or economics-related right now😆

I feel my head will literally 🤯 I read Mohsin Hamid's Exit West recently - it's an allegory about immigration and political restrictions on geographic boundaries bound up in a love story. I liked it a lot. And then I read the Percy Jackson books just cos my sister had the full set handy🤣
