I think that's probably not exactly true (in any country there are always a small group of people who will eat weird things but I doubt its part of their general cuisine). I have lots of Chinese American friends, the food is delicious - especially the home-cooked stuff you can't always order in restaurants.
BTW I LOVE Turkish food too! I even bought a cookbook last time I visited but cooking is not one of my strengthsđ¤Ł
