Another beautiful update š¤©
Raavi is in a mess, and i understand what she is going through. Her dreams, plans everything has been mercilessly broken.
Shiva can't leave her alone, but he doesn't know how to handle her because he has never been sweet with her.seeing him put in efforts and step out of his comfort zone for her is so heartwarming.the way he described her eyes ā£ļø
They both are so awkward and take aback by this change of equation and the obvious attraction.
Their childhood flashback was so cute. For raavi shiva has been everything. For shiva too she has been her world.
Can't wait for their journey ā£ļø
Wow.. It was again an excellent chapter Rochā¤ļø
Raavi feeling complety lost had my heart broken and shiva my boiiii.. Your version of shiva is all hearts.. Going out of his way for raaviā¤ļø
The sublte awkwardness they are feeling for their newly grown dynamics is soo realistically and beautifully portrayed.
I love the childhood connections it just fills my heart with warmth.
Tere siva mera hai hi kaun
Jo hai tu hi hai.
Just perfect description of their relation in two beautiful lines.
ššššTruly amazing couple of chaptersš, Shiva choosing Raavi over Mami that chapter was amazing, and the flashback to Raaviās birthday party š¤©š„°ā¤ļø. Canāt wait to read more of your amazing story.š„°š„°š„°ššš
9. Sympathy Case
Shiva and Raavi looked at each other and then at the bike in front of them and then at each other again.
Then Raavi looked at her Massi and Anita dii and they looked at each other, before looking back at her.
All of them shrugged when Raavi was was looking at them questionably.
For all of these years Raavi lived on this earth, she thought she was the craziest in this town. This was before she realised that people she was living with were more crazy than her because only people as crazy as them would suggest something this activity in the scorching heat of the day.
"Dekh kya rahi hai," Shiva said, a small smile on his face as he pointed at his black bike, shining under the sun. "Chal,"
"Maine kab kaha tuje," Raavi averted her gaze from the shining old bike, to the ecstatic Shiva, thinking aloud, "ki mujhe bike chalani seekhni hai?"
That was exactly why Shiva had come to take Raavi, to teach her how to ride the bike. When Raavi heard about his plan, she was perplexed and doubted both, her choice of company and her ears. Because there was something majorly wrong with two things.
1. Shiva wanted to handover his very precious bike to her and teach her to ride it too
2. Her maasi and sister did not protest, instead they kept ushering for her to go forth and learn to ride.
What in the world was wrong with them?
Raavi could not even reject the idea, because Shiva had brought her out of the house already and both Prafulla and Anita blocked the door so she could not go back. And since when did her massi and Shiva join hands to collab? Did she wake up in an alternate reality today? Some other universe? Some other time zone?
Because Shiva had come to her room through the door not the balcony, they had a moment without fighting or pouncing at each other, he spoke to her in the most sweetest Shiva manner there was, when she asked if she could go out with Shiva her Massi agreed. Not only did she agree, she almost pushed her outside the door and now on hearing for what reason they were out, she was scared but her massi was not.
"Kya soch rahi hai? Ey chipkali?" Shiva snapped in front of her, asking her through a slight nod, "chal na, tujhe seekha deta hu."
"Haa haa bhai, seekha de isse, Shiva." Prafulla cheered from behind them, "woh Jamnagar mein bhai ka tractor hai, woh chalana."
"Fui, tractor aur bike same thodi na hote hai?" Anita added from besides her but Prafulla shushed her, by the wave of her hand.
"Hote hai."
"Aur hote toh bhi, Raavi waha tractor thodi na chalaye gi." Anita once again tried to reason with Prafulla, but her fui was not interested in practical reasoning.
"Ey Raavi, chala na, tere bachpan ka sapna aaj pura hoga," Prafulla clasped her hands in delight, "Ey Shiva, dhyaan rakhna."
"Sun Maami..." Shiva pointed his finger to Prafulla, glaring at her as per his normal anger stance, and Raavi turned, a little hopeful that things were back to being what there were but Shiva calmed down when Prafulla stepped back. "Ji maami,"
Raavi needed a hand to hold her, because this was really going to make her faint. She managed to stumble in her place but Shiva held her, and she looked in complete surprise at both Shiva and then at her aunt. "Tu theek hai?" Shiva asked, his hand wrapped around her shoulder, but she was in shock.
"What did you just say?"
"Tu theek hai?"
"Main theek hu, par tune abh kya kaha?"
"Tu theek hai."
"Main toh theek hu, toh bol na tune kya kaha?"
"TU THEEK HAI."
"Arrey, maine kaha ki main theek hu. Maine tujhse ye pucha ki tune kya kaha..."
"Ey Maami ki Behen ki Beti..." Shiva was now getting irritated at this conversation and he took an intimidating step closer to Raavi.
"Shiva beta..."
Both Raavi and Shive turned to Prafulla who said those two words in the most sweetest manner possible. While Raavi was shocked, her mouth slightly ajar, Shiva on the other hand took a step back, nodding and relaxing.
The things he was doing for this girl.
"Raavi," He said, extra sweetly and Prafulla nodded, making Raavi look at him, "tune mujhe pucha na, ki maine kya kaha, toh maine pucha tha ki tu theek hai,"
"Main theek nahi hu." Raavi held her head, as Shiva grew close towards her, holding her arm affectionately. "Bikul nahi."
Prafulla and Anita rushed towards the girl but Shiva had already made her sit on the bike, he checked her forehead but it was not burning, and then touched her cheek, but everything was normal. "Kya hua," He asked, concerned, "chakkar aa rahe hai?"
Raavi shook her head, "nahi," She replied, as she sat on the bike, facing Shiva and holding his arms for support. "What is happening between you and Massi?" She asked, shifting her gaze at Prafulla, "why are you two acting so weird? Why are you two not ready to kill each other?" She asked, softly, because nothing was making sense to her. "I don't understand."
While Anita and Prafulla chuckled, Shiva tilted his head at the confused Raavi, her ramblings reminded him of the Raavi who would go on and on with her talking. But unlike those times, Shiva now wanted to listen to all her incessant speeches and long dramatic conversations. He smiled, withdrawing his hand from her cheek and Raavi sighed, looking at these people who were alien to her now.
One incident changed all of them, she thought, but was it a good change?
"Drama hua tera, toh chal? Terko highway pe sikata hu." With that Raavi got down and sat behind Shiva, and while they rode off, she turned behind to see Prafulla and Anita smiling and waving her off and then at Shiva, who was genuinely interested in teaching her to ride the bike.
But when did she even want to ride the bike?
Sighing, she rested her hands on Shiva's shoulder, shutting her eyes and letting the wind cool her messed up mind but Shiva now found it difficult to focus on the road, after all a chipkali was on his back.
_
"Dekh, ye gear," Shiva pointed at the basics of the bike, Raavi standing aside and instead of focusing on bike, she focused on the man himself, "aur ye accelerator, aur ye..." She looked at him, trying to understand this gadheda, who once almost broke her leg because she sat behind his bike without asking him.
Is he the same Shiva?
"Starting mein thoda time lagega, balance karne mein aur chalane mein..." He kept teaching her and Raavi heard nothing, except her own thoughts.
Was he not the one who said that they were not friends? Or that they shared nothing but enmity? Or that he would die before caring for her?
Then why was Shiva being so weird?
"Ey chipkali?" He snapped in front of her, "sun le, wapas nahi kahunga."
She nodded, trying to focus on the bike but she couldn't. She does not even remember why she was here or when she even wanted to ride a bike.
"Aur haan, bike ka accident mat hone dena..." He pointed his finger at her.
"Haan, bike important hai," She said, nodding.
"Nahi," He shook his head, looking straight in her soul through those dark eyes, "Bike wapas aa jayegi, usse chalani waali nahi, toh dhyaan se."
Their eye-lock would have lasted till the sunset if it was not for the passerby aunties who called out to them, and they greeted them. They were the neighbouring aunties from Pandya Niwas, knowing both Raavi and Shiva well.
"Arey Raavi," Said one lady, being nosey as always, "kaisi hai? Hume suna ki tu Jamnagar jaa rahi hai?"
"ji,"
"Accha hai, warna Somnath mein abh kaun shaadi karega tujhse." She added, as Raavi sighed, knowing that this was just routine. Her sister Anita had also heard many taunts and now it was her turn, because History had to repeat itself. "Dev toh chala gaya, honeymoon pe."
On mention of Dev's name, Raavi looked down, hating that no matter how hard she tried to get out, people will keep pressing old wounds. "Waise Shiva, aisa toh nahi, ki bhai ki galti sudharne aaya hai Raavi ke saath?" The other aunty giggled, but Raavi immediately looked at Shiva, afraid of his reaction.
And Raavi was right, because Shiva was fuming. He had already fisted his hands, shaking in pure rage and if these women did not leave, he would do something stupid again. She kept her hand on his fisted palm, pressing it so he does not act on his anger. He looked at her, eyes filled with fiery rage, but Raavi shook her head, and he pursed his lips.
"Chalo aacha hai," One of them said, before leaving, "koi toh ho jo bechari pe taras khaaye, warna aajkal kaun kisko puchta hai."
On that note, Raavi left his hand, tilting her head as she watched them leave and then she looked at Shiva who was trying his best to not be mad.
"Jaane de inhe," He grunted, shaking his head, "tu yaha dhyaan de, inke bakwas pe nahi."
Was it pity? Raavi gulped, looking at him as he explained the bike in the most basic manner.
Was Shiva pitying her? Was he having mercy on her? Was he being with her because she was a bride that got left at the altar or worse, that it was his brother who left her so he was just guilty and helped her? Was this just sympathy?
That thought hurt her more than it should have, because she did not want to be pitied. But did Shiva pity her? Is that why he was being with her? Is that why he was this weird, different Shiva with her?
Sympathy case.
She was just a sympathy case for him.
That explained a lot of things. His behaviour, his actions, mannerism and his concern towards her. No wonder he was acting soft, because he was taking pity on her. This was just for him to erase the guilt his brother created and nothing for her.
"Samaj gayi main," Raavi sat on the bike, startling Shiva, and she twisted the key and started the engine. She was clearly messed up, with the hurt coming back to her and her heart aching once again, "chala ke dikhati hu." She pedaled on the bike, and sped the accelerator.
"Raavi, mazak nahi hai, utar bike se." Shiva ordered, afraid she might just die or kill someone else, "you are far behind in this."
"Theek hai main akele chali jaati hu."
Shiva sighed in frustration but he sat behind her, not wanting this idiot to die alone, and the moment he sat, Raavi sped the bike like an airplane. Never in his life did Shiva felt this scared as he did when the gadehdi in front of her rode the bike so fast. She was a natural, he thought, but he knew that she was removing her frustration on the bike ride by how she was speeding it. Raavi was angry, speeding the accelerator and driving past everything like wind, while Shiva had no time to respond.
"Raavi, aa su kare che?" He asked, afraid that they might just die anytime now, "Ey pagal, dobi, marr jayenge hum..." He tried but she only sped the bike, zooming past the other bikes like a madman. "Raavi, baat sun yaar...." He held the support stand behind him, because holding Raavi would mean instant death. "Maami ki Behen ki Beti, rokh de. Warna..."
"warna kya?" Raavi said, angry as the tears of frustration fell on face, "marr jayenge na, toh theek che. Aa samaj, ki Raavi pati gayu." She said, not flinching once as she almost knocked over the divider but managed to steady the bike.
"su pati gayu?" Shiva said, done with her childishness, as he quickly held her hands and Raavi started shaking his hands off hers resulting in the bike zig-zaging it's way, "Raavi," He said as he managed to lessened the speed and halted the bike by applying the breaks, this made the bike to turn, off balance and with it, both Shiva and Raavi landed on the dusty ground, the bike on Raavi's legs.
It took Shiva just few seconds to gather himself and get to Raavi's aid who lay down under the weight of the bike, crying as she shut her eyes and Shiva picked the heavy bike off her.
"Tu Paagal hai kya?" He screamed at her, pointing his finger at the girl who was crying as she lay down in the dust. "Bewakoof. Kuch ho jaata toh?" He helped her sit up, and she looked at him, teary eyed.
"Toh tujhe kya?" She asked, shrugging his hands off her. "Tujhe kya Shiva, main jiyu yaa mar jau? Tu toh apne aap ko mera sabse bada dushman maanta hai na? Toh tujhe kya?"
"Raavi, sun..."
"Don't touch me." She pointed her finger at him, although her entire body ached by the accident, she would rather be alone than pitied. "Nahi, Shiva tu sun, mujhe teri sympathy nahi chahiye aur na tera ehsaan, mujhse mere haal pe chod de. Teri meherbaani aur nahi chahiye, bas." She said, and Shiva looked at her.
"theek hai," Shiva got on the bike, "bhaad mein jaa."
And he left, hurt that the girl he was doing so much for was acted so rude. Applying the brakes, he halted his bike ahead, and screamed in sheer anger. He held his head, what was he and what he had become in these few days really made him wonder. How dare she insult him, how dare she speak so rudely to him?
"Tere siva mera hai hi kaun?"
"Mujhe laga hum dost hai..."
"Abh jo bhi hai, tu hi hai."
"When I'll die, you will be the first one to cry..."
"kisiko akela nahi chodna chahiye, especially when they need someone."
All the her memories ran past his mind and he realised how he was the rude one but she always stood by him. And if for once she lost her cool, why was he letting his male ego be the bigger person. After all, if Raavi had no one other than Shiva, Shiva was all alone without her too.
Cursing himself, he turned the bike, going back to pick the girl he stranded in the middle of nowhere.
This was not Shiva Pandya, he realised as he made his way back, this was not him.
There was a better word for him, which his mother would address him as from henceforth.
Petticoat chaap.

Dude this is soo soothing, I just came to IF after watching Hera Pheri and you made me cry again
Such a wonderful writer you areā¤ļø
I need more updates fastm fast my dil is very impatient
The angst!
Raavi feeling that shiva pities him. There is no way she can take that. She has always fought with shiva being an equal.
Shiva getting angry at the accusations, because what he feels for her is much beyond sympathy.
And this is the reflective thoughtful shiva. Loses his cool, but calms down when he introspects.
The way he rushed back to her realising how she had always been with him despite the rudeness.when this one time, she was clouded by anger. How could he leave?
The story is shaping up beautifully. Waiting for the next part ā¤ļø
Its 2:30 am and I am so overwhelmed that I couldn't help but cry.
