It does bother me at times when Bollywood keeps copying their own movies too or recreate Bolly iconic scenes too.
I am fed up of rehashing iconic characters or remaking even own films. I hated remakes of Don, Agneepath and I used to hate films copying iconic antakshari love confession scene of Maine Pyar kiya or train scene of DDLJ or the male friendship scenes of Sholay.
David Dhawan also recreated his iconic scenes in all films with Govinda with Kader Khan playing the same harried father or FIL.
It does bother me as a viewer and I wonder if they ever use their mind? Do they think audience are fuddus who will watch same thing rehashed again?
I do think movies need to be original
True.. They might be making money but they are also losing respect. Now that we have access to OTT platforms and can watch original foreign series, that interest for BW is waning.
Abhi dare to shuru bhi nhi kra😆
ye margarita thunder bird aajkal kya Kar rahi hai?
Hailing from South and watching almost all the movies being remade is really frustrating...
South Indian Cinema and Bollywood are different in most aspects... If I can appreciate an Aparichit and I can also enjoy a DDLJ... Both are original and mass films which upon remake can loose it's magic..
While I liked Gajini and Singham coz they were well made..
So it's a thin line but let us retain both the OG cinematic creation which are unique in their own way..

Gonna pretend I can quote you since you’ve blocked my ass. I don’t watch South Indian movies so I have no issue with Bollywood copying it because I’ll never know what the original is like anyway. 😆 Hollywood is an issue coz it can be easily butchered. Though, I tried watching Momento after Ghajini and I preferred the BW version much better. Bollywood does romance and angst way better than Hollywood. At least for me.
*EDITED*
OMFG I’m a genius. I totally made it look like I quoted you. I’ve found a loophole! 🤣
I'm gonna have to try this next time. 😎 How did I not think of this technique before?!! 😆😆
agreed that bollywood always ups the melodrama, which I dig! 😆 I also watched An Eye for an Eye a couple months back (the hollywood original of Dushman) and couldn't take the bad guy seriously after Ashutosh gave me the heebie jeebies in the bollywood movie. He still does even now when I watch it.

It’s deliberate lol. No one can convince me that he’s saying Uthi instead of Kutti. So I sing it like that. 😋
My friend's little girl used to sing Haathi ka andaa laa for aati kya Khandala....and no one could convince her otherwise.....it is what it is....if its Haathi its haathi...if its kutti its kutti....😎
the important part is that they must put forth effort to make it good. But every new movie being announced at this point is either a remake of a South Indian movie or a Hollywood knockoff
