New soap to replace Khwaish
Sony TV seems to be axing many shows these days. Amber Dhara went off air some time back because of the differences between the production house and the next one on the departure list is Balaji Telefilms' Khwaish. It will be replaced by another soap called Hamari Urmi, produced by Shrishti Behl of Remix and India Calling fame. Shrishti prefers to be tight-lipped about the show, but Manish Goel, one of the lead actors, says it will be aired in the prime slot in May or June.
"The production house has been making some unique shows," he says. "I play the lead role. I will reveal more details at the right time." Rahil Azam of Hatim adds that he too was approached for the role and talks were going on. "But surprisingly I haven't heard anything from them after that," he clarifies. But the suspense still remains as to who will play the title role of Urmi.
