I was searching for patriotic movies on YT thanks to this post and my feed has been flooded with various patriotic movies. I casually clicked this one which seemed to have 144M views and excellent comments. Did anybody watch this movie and is it worth a watch?

Agreed, its my favourite too since its not the typical "perfect" patriotism that you get with many other Bollywood movies where something great is achieved, some soldiers go to war etc. they can be awesome too but are easy to do since everyone loves them anyway

Actually fighting against corruption and evil politicians and sacrificing your life for that is more interesting for me and its also more daring. Lately I have seen Rang de basanti called "communist" propaganda by the right, if it was made now there would be lots of controversy for sure and called anti national since the characters go against the establishment

Like most of them other than Rang de Basanti, although that might not be fair cz couldn't finish it, not even half of the movie and Lagaan, was able to finish it though...

I used to love old movie Kranti as a kid.


Favorite song is — yeh jo desh hai tera

tujh se zindagi
hai ye kah rahi
sab to paa liya
ab hai kya kami

yoon to saare sukh hain barse
par door tu hai apne ghar se
aa laut chal tu ab deewane
jahaan koi to tujhe apna maane
aawaaz de tujhe bulaaye wahi des

I left India when I was 21. I live here in USA. Family is back in India. Some important moments in life, I miss my parents. They visit but not like they are gonna settle here. I won’t move back. And they are aging. Sometimes I feel like I want to stay close to them.

Sab to paa liya, ab hai kya kami.
Yun to sare sukh hai barse, par dur Tu hai apne Ghar se.

These lines hound me. For the most part, I stay away from this song.
