Part 5

Harman wakes up before sunrise.

He silently gets ready and leaves the house.

Preeto notices him.

Preeto: Harman... where are you going so early?

Harman: Mom, I have found a job.

Preeto: A job? Why? Your father gives you everything.

Harman: Not everything, Mom. He stopped my pocket money because I took Rs. 100 from his pocket. I realized that I can't depend on Dad for everything—some things I have to earn myself.

Preeto senses he is hiding something but decides not to ask.

Preeto: Take care of yourself.

Harman: I will.

He touches her feet before leaving.

A taxi stand...

An elderly taxi owner, Kishore, hands Harman the keys.

Kishore: Drive carefully. This taxi is my livelihood.

Harman: Don't worry, Uncle. I will take care of it like my own.

Harman starts his first day as a taxi driver.

Throughout the day, he drives passengers across Mumbai.

An older woman struggles to carry her luggage.

Harman immediately gets down.

Harman: Let me help you, Aunty.

He carries her bags to her house.

Old Woman: Son, people like you are rare these days.

She blesses him.

Later...

Harman counts the money he has earned.

Harman: It is still far from two thousand... but one day I will surely collect it.

He smiles, thinking about Soumya.

He worked hard day and night and managed to arrange for Rs. 2000/-

Meanwhile...

At Vedant's kotha...

Varun drags Soumya before Mallika.

Varun: This girl is becoming impossible. She refuses every customer.

Soumya: I will never ruin my dignity.

Varun raises his hand.

Mallika saw Harman and went to Soumya. She said, "Harman has come."

Harman arrives after finishing work.

Varun blocks his path.

Varun: Came without money again?

Harman: I came to meet Soumya.

Varun: This is not a charity home.

Harman: I arranged for the amount.

He hands the amount to Varun and says, "If you want, you can count."

Varun: Fine, you can take her, but remember one thing. If you send her back to teach her the crooked ways, or take her somewhere else, it won't be good for you.

Mallika comes downstairs.

Mallika: Take her, but bring her back on time.

Soumya comes out. She is delighted to see Harman.

Soumya: You came!

Harman: Didn't I promise you?

Soumya notices that Harman's hands have become rough.

Soumya: What happened to your hands?

Harman hides them.

Harman: Nothing.

She gently holds his hand.

Soumya: You're lying.

Harman smiles.

Harman: I started working as a taxi driver.

Soumya is shocked.

Soumya: Why?

Harman: To earn money.

Soumya: For yourself?

Harman: No... for you.

Soumya's eyes fill with tears.

Soumya: You don't even know me properly. Why are you doing all this?

Harman: Sometimes it doesn't take years to know someone. The heart recognizes the right person in a single moment.

Soumya lowers her eyes shyly.

Harman notices that Soumya is looking out of the small window.

Harman: Have you ever seen the sea?

Soumya shakes her head.

Soumya: No.

Harman: One day I'll take you to Juhu Beach. We'll watch the sunset together.

Soumya smiles for the first time.

Soumya: Promise?

Harman extends his little finger.

Harman: Promise.

Soumya hooks her little finger with his.

Harman takes Soumya to the birthday party of one of his friend's uncles. He finds Ballu and others at the party and says, "She is Soumya, the love of my life."

They said, "Cool." Let's have a dance together.

Everyone began to dance. Ballu's uncle, Sant Baksh, was drunk; he came near Soumya and said, "Come, baby, let's dance."

But Soumya refused and caught Harman. Seeing this, Harman lost his temper and said, "If she doesn't want to dance with you, then why are you forcing her?"

Sameer, Ballu, and Jeet supported him.

Sant Baksh recalls going to the kotha, where Soumya scratched him. He said, "How dare you bring this w to my party?"

Harman held his collar and said, "She is not a w. She is as pure as the Ganges. Though men came, she resisted and was beaten brutally by the in-charge.

He then unzipped it and showed the marks.

Sameer, Ballu, and Jeet were shocked.

Soumya cried, "Please take me away from here."

Harman nodded and wiped her tears. He said, "Certainly, we won't be here even for a second now."

Meanwhile, Pramila came to the hall. Sant Baksh's misbehavior didn't go unnoticed as Jeet came and told her about the whole incident.

Pramila went angrily to Sant Baksh and asked, "What the hell is going on?" Sant Baksh fumbled for words.

Pramila slapped him.

Part 5

The episode begins with Harman and Soumya leaving the party.

Harman: Are you upset with me for bringing you here?

Soumya: No

Harman: People don't have empathy; they can't comfort others; they can't help. They only bark. You shouldn't care for such people.

Soumya: Aren't you afraid your name will be spoiled?

Harman: Initially, I was, but when I saw you, I stopped caring about society.

Soumya: It's not going to be easy, as there are many barriers between us. Varun, Mallika, and Vedant. Yes, Mallika could be our possible support system. Would your parents agree?

Harman: Leave that to me. If my mom agrees, even my father will agree. Is there anything else to ask?

Soumya: No.

Harman: But I want to ask.

Soumya: Proceed.

Harman: How did you get into this trap?

Soumya: My parents are in Pune. I was there before coming here. I wanted to study further, but because of financial problems, I started applying for jobs. I got a response. The employer sent me money to travel to Mumbai. I came, gave the interview, and got selected. However, when I left, the person offered me a lift. I accepted, but then he dropped me at Mallika's kotha, where it was dark. I lost my desire to live. But I found a ray of hope in you. I want to live, but not in this darkness, not in this prison.

Harman gets teary. The song plays

Harman: Then what is the alternative?

Soumya: We have to go back to that kotha. Mallika is good at heart. She will help us.

Harman: Have you gone crazy? I took you out of there with great difficulty, and you want to go back?

Soumya: You are right from your viewpoint. Speak to Mallika once. If she doesn't help, we will proceed with your plan. Please, for my sake.

Harman nods.

They returned to the kotha and met Mallika.

Mallika: So, you guys want to get married?

Harman + Soumya: Yes, we decided to settle with each other.

Mallika: It's not going to be easy, as Vedant is very dangerous and unpredictable. Harak clenches his fists.

Harak: For such criminals, army rule is better. One day, I'll make sure that criminal is punished. Shoot him on site.

Preeto serves him tea.

Preeto: Why are you getting so angry early in the morning?

Harak: Criminals like Vedant stain society. Innocent girls lose their lives because of people like him.

Harman overhears the conversation from the staircase.

He realizes that the same Vedant owns the place where Soumya is trapped.

After the College...

Harman went to Vedant's office.

Vedant: What can I do for you?

Harman: I have a request.

Vedant: Yes, tell me.

Harman: A girl named Soumya lives in your kotha. I request you to free her.

Vedant: How is she related to you? Is she your lost sister?

Harman: No.

Vedant: Are you in love with her?

Harman: Yes, I love her.

Vedant: You seem to be a decent guy. Why don't you tell your parents to get you married?

Harman: I love Soumya, and I want to marry her. If you'd like me to pay to take her, I will arrange the funds. But please free her.

Vedant laughed sarcastically: You will earn money? Please leave before I do something to you.

Harman: You will pay for this.

Vedant angrily ordered his men to finish Harman.

Harman fought with his men, but got injured and lay on the road while they left.

Sameer, Ballu, and Jeet are inside the car as it passes by. Suddenly, they open the door and see Harman injured.

Sameer: It seems he's in a serious condition.

Ballu: Let's take him to the hospital.

Harman: No, I won't die so easily. I need to free Soumya from Vedant's clutches.

All of them join hands.

Meanwhile, one of Vedant's brothers, Chitti, went to Mallika's kotha and said, "Where is Laila?"

Mallika: There's no laila here.

Chitti: There is good news for her. Her majnu is dead, and now no one can save her from us.

Soumya overheard the conversation and came running to beat Chitti, but he tried to take her forcefully.

Mallika: You can't take her like that.

Chitti: Who is she to you?

Mallika: She is my daughter.

Chitti and his men pushed Mallika and dragged her, but Harman, Sameer, Ballu, and Jeet came on time, thrashing and killing Chitti, his brothers, and his men.

Mallika and Surabhi took Soumya to the jeep where Harman and his friends had parked. Soumya got into the jeep. Harman, Sameer, Ballu, and Jeet joined her.

The jeep started. Harman, Soumya, and the boys stayed overnight in a cottage. The song played.

The next moment, a commissioner named Sanjeev came to Harak Singh's place with the news, saying, "Your son Harman injured 3 of Vedant's brothers and killed two of them."

Harak Singh is surprised.

He said, "So what wrong did he do? I was upset when I read the news about what he did to an innocent girl for eloping with her lover?"

Sanjeev: No wonder, it's because of parents like you that the children get spoilt. Do you even know who he did that to? He did that for a girl, and it seems he loves her. He took her somewhere else.

Harak: I am not praising him for taking the girl. I wanted him to work for the army, but he refused. However, he killed those criminals for the right cause, and I am proud of him.

The Next Day

Harman: Now that you are free, I think you should come with me to my place.

He took her near the door of his house.

Harman indicated that Soumya should come in.

Nimmi: What happened, Soumya? We didn't hear from you right after you reached Mumbai.

While Soumya was about to speak the truth, Harman said, "She was busy with her work, as she was on rotational shifts."

Nimmi: I see.

However, Maninder and Nimmi sensed that Soumya was in trouble, and Harman rescued her.

Vedant is enraged at the death of his brothers and Surbhi helping Soumya to escape.

He called Varun and Surbhi.

They met Vedant.

He brought Surbhi safely to Mallika and told her everything that happened in his meeting with Vedant.

At Maninder and Nimmi's house - Pune

The house is quiet after the emotional meeting with Harman and Soumya.

Nimmi arranges the sweets she prepared for their guests. Maninder speaks to Harman while Soumya stands beside her mother.

Maninder: Harman, when will your parents be coming?

Harman: They will join us once the engagement is fixed, Uncle. My father wants both families to discuss everything properly.

Nimmi: That is good. We should also prepare Soumya for the engagement.

Soumya smiles shyly.

Soumya: Ma, there is still time.

Nimmi: Time? I understand your engagement is being discussed, and you say there is time.

Harman laughs.

Harman: Aunty, I think Soumya is nervous.

Nimmi: Of course she is nervous. But she is also happy.

Soumya looks at Harman.

Arun: We have traced their vehicle to Pune. We are trying to locate the exact house.

Vedant looks up.

Vedant: Trying?

Arun: Pune is a large city. We need more information.

Vedant: Then get more information.

Arun remains silent.

Vedant: Harman Singh has humiliated me. He killed my brothers, took Soumya away, and now he thinks he can return to his normal life.

Arun: What do you want me to do once we find them?

Vedant: I want to know everything: the house, the family, the people around them, and their plans.

Arun: And Soumya?

Vedant's expression hardens.

Vedant: She is not going to disappear from my life so easily.

At the railway station - Pune

A man gets off a train and looks around.

It is Sameer, carrying a small bag.

He calls Harman.

Sameer: Harman, where are you?

Harman: At Soumya's house. Why?

Sameer: Ballu and Jeet are with me. We thought we would surprise you.

Harman: You came all the way to Pune?

Ballu's voice: We came to make sure you don't forget your friends after getting engaged!

Jeet: And to eat the engagement sweets.

Harman laughs.

Harman: Fine. Come over.

Sameer: We will be there soon.

At Maninder's house

The doorbell rings.

Soumya opens the door and finds Sameer, Ballu, and Jeet standing outside.

Soumya: You three?

Ballu: Yes, madam. We heard there was an engagement.

Jeet: And we were not invited?

Soumya: It hasn't even been fixed yet!

Sameer: That is why we came early. We want to be involved in the planning.

Harman comes forward.

Harman: You could have told me before coming.

Ballu: Then it wouldn't have been a surprise.

Everyone laughs.

Nimmi welcomes them inside.

Nimmi: Come in, children. You must be hungry.

Ballu: Aunty, you understand us so well.

Jeet: He means he wants food.

Ballu: That too.

The atmosphere becomes cheerful.

Soumya watches Harman laughing with his friends. For the first time, she feels like part of a family that is happy to have her.

A little later...

Sameer notices that Harman is distracted.

Sameer: What happened?

Harman: Nothing.

Sameer: Don't tell me nothing. You have been looking outside for the last ten minutes.

Harman: I want to make sure everything is fine.

Sameer: Harman, you have done what you set out to do. Soumya is home. Her parents have blessed you. Your parents have accepted her. Now, for once, try to relax.

Harman: I am happy, Sameer. But I know Vedant won't forget what happened.

Sameer: We will deal with him if he comes. But don't let him take away every happy moment.

Harman nods.

Harman: You're right.
