Yeah, just because they wanted to go for a forced marriage, they went and ruined a guy who was palatable so far. After that, there was nothing to justify his character whatsoever in the immediate future.

you know what, I also got that feeling (that they are showing things for the sake of it!) from Aryan's arm grabbing scene in the 'control room' recently. There was really no reason or provocation for that IMO. They just wanted to use that scene since the car crash promo (having that scene) was well received.

But I am willing to let that go for now. 😀

With Aryan, I've always maintained that those few scenes like the dupatta-tying scene, the water splashing scene, etc. are have just been thrown in as marketing gimmicks by the PH to draw in the audience that loves Gul's typical tropes as this show didn't have that premise in that last one year. Because those scenes don't fit so well with whatever we've seen of Aryan's character traits. He isn't someone who thinks himself above others nor is he someone who's arrogant about his family name, wealth, etc. and neither is he a douche with his family. His aloofness was for a reason and his past was well defined so it was easier to say that those couple scenes were there for the heck of it.

@bold: exactly !

@red: that's very accurate and probably one of main differences between ASR1.0 and ASR2.0

Ok, since all this discussion about Aditya, and I have seen it from the beginning (I don't know how), I would also like to add my views about it. M, has already added the deets about the storyline so will not venture into that, but why I find Aditya problematic I would like to say.

So basis the portrayal by GM, Aditya is a workaholic who is proud of his journalist credo and has little time for love or family. I on the other hand have always viewed him as a sociopath. He has this weird anti-social attitude where he has zero feelings for his family, I mean nothing. What is viewed as khadoos or aloof is antisocial. In his relationship with Malini, also there is too much formality for a 7-year relationship. I mean 7 year relationship me who call you Aap bro. Woh to ab tak tu or tum ho jata hai.

In PD, he struts around the village like he owns the place. I have always felt that apart from Satyakaam, he has no regard for any other person in the village. He actually treats PD people as some clowns for his personal entertainment, even Imlie. For an objective serious journalist, who has come to cover a rebel leader in PD, he is very judgemental and narrow minded.

Post his marriage with Imlie, came out his real character and another trait of being a sociopath - an irresponsible and reckless man. A man who projected his hostile behavior on a teen who was also forced into this relationship. A man who speaks so vocally about honesty and straight forward life could not apply in his communication in a 7-year relationship. A man who put the burden of decision making on a teen who gets emotionally carried away to take decisions of a marriage, he doesn't consider real. A man in his victim portrayal consistently made Imlie question her self worth, who made her feel like dust, and even called her the same compared to Malini. I thought it would subside over time, but seeing that same behavior for 30 plus or more episodes, just had me infuriated.

Post getting shot to protect him, Aditya was actually awed that someone took a bullet for him. And so his blocked out humanity suddenly revived in him. A girl who is passing out asks him to remove the sindoor from her head and he goes through with it, OMG. Is that a time to even consider all this. I would have said just shut up, will handle the rest. Its mighty ridiculous.

Aditya was floored by Imlie's steadfast loyalty, her ability to endanger her life for him and also keep secrets for him and worship him. These are classic narcissist behavior. Imlie ko to dimaag nahi, to understand this at 19. But Aditya is this. And so Aditya did not want to lose all this he followed her to PD. There 2-3 supposed good actions won Imlie over, and she was bowled by her husband.

Then followed his chori chupke pyaar which was like getting too complex to handle with Malini around. It became unmanageable to watch Malini attempting to work this marriage and Aditya showing his incapacity to make decisions for his and Imlie's relation and leaving Imlie to decide who is an already established emotional fool.

After a year of allowing Imlie to take decisions for this God forsaken marriage, suddenly Imlie's concerns regarding Malini are pushed under the carpet as a teenager's jealousy, her attempts to expose Malini is disqualified as her zidd, whose humanity and morality he fell for is being questioned. Are you for real? What kind of love is this?

Sorry, I don't hate Aditya, too strong a word to waste on a fictional character. I find him unappealing and a person who actually needs mental treatment and rehab instead of pushing himself in and out of marriages. He is a narcissistic sociopath and it just turns off any sense of liking for the guy.

Now, the important part, why would I choose Aryan over Aditya and contrast between both, do you guys want to hear me out, do let me know.😆

Woah! Unfiltered truth about AKT & Imlie. You are also right about Imlie being an emotional fool. She tries not to be…but falls right back into it. And we can witness this more clearly in the last 60 episodes as well. Also years and years of living in unhealthy family relationships / conditions…!!

Do want to read your Aryan vs Aditya contrast :)

BTW, isn't Aryan technically ASR 3.0? There were two ASR's before him. Although I think most people have forgotten/never watched the 2.0 version.
