Agree, total locha lag raha hai. It is always the rule, in Gul land, if the leads are falling in love and everything is feel good, she will throw a bucket of water over all our armaans and then there is angst for months. Ughhh...I hope she does not follow her usually formula. 😕

My guess is something cataclysmic going to happen in PD that will cause Arylie marriage and Imlie will rightly smash his missus.

As Bluegrass brought up the topic of male vs female desire (and IPK as an example)…adding my two cents here.

That show did a good enough job of specifically showcasing female desire (and in general, desire/lust as a normal, healthy thing that coexists with love). Given that character (Khushi) and audience are conservative, it depicts it in a roundabout way than we usually see male desire (gazes, touches, etc). With her we had dhak-dhak / acidity / Rabba-ves…

Imlie experienced a brief period of attraction with Aditya (what she calls emotion sickness and has equated it to love? (She seems to be reevaluating now)) but that has died down much prior….and to the point that she definitely loved her husband / marriage relationship but was NOT actively “in love” with the man concerned.

I hope whatever awareness she now feels with Aryan doesn’t spook her or guilt trip her (especially coz her ex believes she’s having an affair with Aru and she knows the thin ice she treads on with Ts n Cs). The silent understanding in Aru’s eyes…and him not letting her linger / overthink these fleeting moments is lovely (for now). I hope this time around she experiences geniune love for the man first-n-foremost (not something that she’s forced to accept…and uphold and be loyal towards)

There are somethings that only women or queer people internalise that cishet men don't even register. They are not even a part of their universe. Why something as sexually charged as gazing, but even how we are supposed to sit in a ladylike manner yada yada yada.

It’s everpresent. I kind of like that the show explores it. Both imlie and aryans socialization is reflected in their personalities.

I often wonder who we would be if the world only let us tell it instead of the other way around.
