It's considered a taboo in India to have an illegitimate child. Consider being pregnant without wedlock 20 years ago. What kind of endurance Meethi has to go through all the mental trauma and taunts. If she wanted she could have easily married Satyakaam that time itself. He was read for that. But she didn't.

And no one, absolutely no one can love the child which someone else has fathered with the woman whom they love. But Satyakaam did.

He loved Imlie as his own child. Taught her the ways of life. Taught her to fight for herself.

Hats-off to these two actors who managed to bring life in the characters of Mithi and Satyakaam

very much agree... i loved the intial episodes of Imlie (Pagdandiya setup) simply cause i admired theirs guts..

esp methis...as you said what all meethi must had to go thru to give what fierce Imlie she has brought up.. imlie coud not be like this if not for raised by such mom... when meethi saved Adi from villagers in recent episode i could feel all the strength Imlie has is from her upbringing.

and satyakam.. i fell short of words for this man.... not just about Imlie.. he is the epitome of what strong man looks like... no no what A Strong Man is. He loved meethi all this while but he never showed his anger on her in the name of one sided love... despite knowing he is the synonym of power in that whole village.. but he never showed that power to the lady he loved. for her all he had was Love and support and care.

and he showered same love to Imlie to turn it his Mini Me.. i love how he adore her more than her own daughter and she loves him alike...

these 3 one screen together gives me such happy vibes that i dont need anything else...

These 2 characters for me are the very foundation of what Imlie had been so far..

Oh, you should have seen the dynamic between Meethi and Adi before this weird track started, with Malini turning negative. They were a treat to watch! Especially in all of the Pag Dandia sequences, Kiran Khoje was splendid!

The show truly was besutiful at one point, with everyone geting ample screen space to show their craft and how! A very far cry from the contrivance filled nomsense it has become now!

Back story! I was thinking of Imlie and Bhagya Lakshmi (diff channel), and these are the first two FL's in the longest time where the FL has a slightly darker complexion then the usual Katrina Kaif/Kaushal kind of complexions we are sooo used to!

I love that soooo much for Imlie though! Wish ITV had more representation of the other 60% of India...

The coding of rural (poor) people as dark-skinned and educated-urbane people being fair itself is a racist assumption. I think unwittingly Arpita, Sundar and even Imlie break that stereotype
