LOL yes. SRK was the ONLY one who did this. Not like this playbook has been used an copied by every single star worth his/her salt.
Buying awards? Nope. Not everyone has an over aggressive PR either. Add hamming to the list as well.

Am I the only one that didn't see anything that bad about what Ranveer said? This much ribbing is fine and funny. If someone makes fun of 83, he should take it with a laugh too.
If it was up to stan twitter, they would turn everyone into huge bores who always say what is politically correct. Let them be a little salty and entertaining. Who cares. đ
Iâm also trying to find the part in the clip thatâs so offensive. Itâs entertaining and obviously said in the context of humour. My favourite part of every award show was when movies were mocked. Itâs basically celebrities saying the shame shit that members say here in the forum. Big whoop.
If RS mocked BV then RK can mock 83. Only difference is that RS should take it up the chin and laugh it off as well. If you can dish it out to others then you should be able to take it too.
RK can mock 83 but he doesn't seem to be the type of person who will do that openly. He would probably do that behind camera or through blinds or indirectly have someone publish mean things.
Ranveer is mocked all the time whether his films do well or not, and it doesnât seem to effect him. He even did the AIB roast where he was insulted and mocked a lot, so Ranveer can take it. Ranveer even mocks his own movies that he doesnât like, he has said many times that he doesnât like LVRB and he has mocked befikre by telling people not to ask him about the film.
Even when the 83 hasnât done well at the box office it is still a loved film by those that have watched it, and ranveer is very happy with that, the 83 team seem very happy and proud of the film they have made and they should be.

You have a very optimistic (and limited) view of the industry, then. Rishi Kapoor wrote about the award he bought in his initial year and the prevalence of the trend, harking back to the 70s, in his autobiography.
An overactive PR is an offshoot of corporatized and big studio money entering the fray- they all need 'stars' to recover their cost. If there isn't one to begin with, the studios and corporates create them through their PR wing. Practice as old as time.
But sure, SRK created it, since we want to draw lazy comparisons and equivalencies.

Never claimed that SRK created those things.đBut he has indulged in them more than others.
Even if awards are bought, nobody has bought it more than SRK. Some actors like Salman, Akshay, Ajay never won a Filmfare or any award because they never cared.
You can't claim someone like Aamir or Hrithik has an overaggressive PR. SRK had it when he was at the top.
The comparison with Ranveer was because he himself claims to be the second SRK. That made me note that he really does things which SRK did.
Yes..you said Ranveer is a copy of SRK and then mentioned these things as if he does them.

SRK had aggressive PR because he backed it up with results at his peak. Aamir and Hrithik were far more inconsistent. The former only really started to have a good run starting with Ghajini. And Hrithik after a fantastic debut (where his PR was very aggressive, constantly pushing articles like SRK is done and he is the new star) delivered tons of flop movies
SRK was the Nr.1 from the mid 90s-2007, can't really be denied
