Dus ke Dus: A second-hand Show

Ok, i just had to get this out of my system!!

Dus ke dus is just no fun to watch, honestly. Its boring and gets really stupid and irritating. I watched it only for rahul and arijit and now rahul is out 😭

Its a really good thing that they decided to give a chance to those who cudn't make it. So if the contestants are 'second-hand', that's cool, cos we love em and want em to win.

But the same host, the same set, the same SONGS..just repackaging the same old stuff and doling it out in 1 hour quantities with miserable, highly avoidable fillers, like Lo Kallo Baat and that crappy CID stunt...there are no judges to give intelligent comments. The ridiculous games with the envelope, same painful dragged-out breaks...

And it just looks very unprofessional when two contestants suddenly have to go off to Maldives and u have to watch canned versions of their earlier performances. U don't even feel as if they are in it anymore.

U just don't even feel ur part of the experience, it just seems as if everything is covered with a layer of dust, honestly!

Wud love to know how others feel about this!

I had a similar feeling while watching the 1st episode on Sony last night. This show does have a dull feeling to it. The same set(couldn't they change this?), same hosts and the same style of presentation. The tension/drama is lacking and lets face it, FG wouldn't even be half as successful if not for all the soap-opera like drama.

Well I was not a fan of the FG drama at all... too melodramatic for my taste. The same songs.. hmm.. maybe they could try other ones but a true lover of music would appreciate even the same songs sung well repeatedly.

Yes when our favs are out, it gets miserable and boring. Like if Shamit leaves, I wont have the same interest in the show. But thats not a flaw in the show right?

Read my post carefully. I didn't say the show is flawed because rahul got out. I gave a whole lot of reasons. I found it boring well before he got out, but now its gettin worse.

I AM a true lover of music but frankly most of the contestants are just not as good the second time around.

Delphic and Music Fan...totally agree with you. Actually -they are re-using the tracks that are already created for FG and II. Hence the contestants have limited choice- singing their old songs or of a fellow contestant leading to comparison. This is such a sham show..Infact I recall an earlier article where Tarun Katial says that Sony has pulled off a major stunt with this show. I feel they saved cost and used everything in Gurukul. I think the contestants are also staying there as I noticed in some shots.

Mandira as an hostess is actually a pain. The host or hostess of a music show if hailing from a musical background will empathise better and not ask silly questions to put off contestants and make them lose their concentration. Mini and Aman even though not exactly musical were much better than Manav and Mandira.

I am a true music fan and with the way FG progressed it was really disheartening. I kept watching for Arijit since he was too good and sang well and then just got myself updated from others. I am writing all this since I also wanted to get it off from my mind. Sometimes I feel that janta judgement - may not be the best way forward. The judges weightage should be given 50% weightage so that some irrational results can be prevented. Maybe I am expecting too much but I feel sad for the talented.

Yes the janta does take wrong decisions at times, maybe judges' should be given weightage too. Lets see if the makers have this idea sometime..

As for Mandira, she def. is far from my idea of a good host. They could do away with her really..

But the standrd of contestants is quite good. Rahul is an amazing singer but Shamit, Arijit are great too. Def. worth ur time and ur ears.
