As usual only Aamir beat Aamir just as he did with Ghajini, 3 Idiots, Dangal, PK and D3. 😜

IWhat about Salman Khan? Overall he ruled the Box office from 2010-2017. Either way these two were far ahead of the rest, that can't be denied.

Like I said, it does NOT matter to us one bit if gorey felt Sardar Udham projects hate for British or if someone feels period films or films on any terror attacks or pogroms now spread hate against X, Y, Z community.

I already told you difference between British and others. British did not raze religious places, did not impose special taxes and fines for non Christians or promote conversions as state policy or killed or tortured gurus of any religion.

I'll give you a small example (out of bazillions in history). Ahmad Shah Abdali invaded India many times and only looted, went back. He destroyed Golden Temple, filled its sacred tank with dead bodies of humans and cow carcasses, his men smoked openly inside its sanctum sanctorum and brought nautch girls to dance there to celebrate their successful attack.

Now you think such history shall be forgotten? Or making movie on this amounts to hate against a community?

Whereas British never destroyed any shrine. They did interfere in functioning of temples and tried to get priests sympathetic to British appointed in those temples, once attempted to use Nankana sahib and Golden Temple as a jail to keep rebels. They got bitter protests and rebel movements like Babbar Akali movement in return. So they backed off but did not desecrate or raze the shrines.

So British definitely did wrong but not the extent of crime that Ahmad Shah Abdali did.

We can make movies on BOTH and write books on BOTH. We will still be accused of being bigots or have some third rate foreigner or invader apologists telling us to see so called nuance or denying our ancestors' lived reality. It does not matter one bit what someone else says.

I find it funny how people blame Bajrang Dal or bans for failures of their films when Aamir gave hit Fanaa despite ban in one state and protests by RW elsewhere, ATBBs like Dangal and PK despite protests and Hrithik gave superhit Jodha Akbar, Akki gave hit OMG despite all protests and even Padmavat and Bajirao Mastani of Ranveer and Deepika became hits despite protests.

I wonder how 'small stars' who do not have 3.5 billion fans manage to give BBs despite bans and protests? 🤣

Someone was asking why Bajrang Dal did not protest against 3 Idiots. I'd like to remind them films became hits in past even despite protests and 3I would bave blasted records even if Bajrang Dal protested against it.

Gadar also had protests against it by a certain community. It blasted BO records anyway. Bombay had protests against it and one community's fanatics even attacked theatres and Mani Ratnam's house after its release yet it succeeded both critically and commercially.

Protests and whining on social media or whiny columns in any paper make NO difference to fate of any film.

On topic, in recent years, Bahubali series, Rudramadevi have shown Hindu kings and warriors' fighting each other. No Muslim villain.

Since 2014 we have had Singham Returns, PK, showing Hindu godmen as villains. Article 15, Shorgul also showed Hindu villains.

Web series like Pataal Lok, Leila, Ghoul, Aashram etc have Hindu villains including godmen.

Haider is also a post 2014 release.

Jolly LLB 2 had a Hindu cop shown as a rogue cop who committed fake encounters of innocent Muslim man. It also starred Akshay Kumar FYI who fights case for the slain Muslim man and proves his innocence.

I can list plenty of films that have shown non Muslim winners. And films like Mulk which actually took up issue of bigotry against Muslims and trapping Muslim man in a fake terror case.

For that matter even SRK has done Raees, Dear Zindagi as a Muslim guy who is NOT a villain. Farhan played a normal Muslim guy and a boxer in Toofan.

PK had Sushant play a Pakistani Muslim and Aamir and Anushka prove his innocence in it, prove allegations of the Hindu godman wrong.

Kabali, Kaala have positive Muslim characters who are either Rajinikanth's friends or lady love. Kaala especially had a casteist politician played by Nana Patekar as villain and Huma playing a Muslim lady who Rajinikanth loves.

His film Petta had shown Hindu villains and taken stand against various dals that hound interfaith couples. His film Darbar had Sunil Shetty play a Hindu villain who is a dreaded mafia boss.

You really want me to list all films post 2014 that have normal Muslim characters or Hindu villains or took issue against bigotry aimed at Muslims?

Rana and her supporters cherry picking few films to allege a conspiracy is just hypocritical.

For whatever it is worth, even Tanhaji has Saif doing the main villainous role and it is a Hindu character.
