Also, please register one thing. Bollywood directors/producers don't have anything to do with what IT cell trolls do on the internet. IT Cell pushes hatred online, not Rohit Shetty or anyone else's fault. You sound like one of those loony conspiracy theorists who claim that everything is Illuminati. 😆

You're literally claiming that Bollywood is conspiring with BJP and the IT Cell to make anti-Muslim conspiracy. That's nuts. What Bollywood does has nothing to do with IT Cell troll activity. Films on Hindu Godmen and Hindu villains have been made under BJP rule. Shows like Leila and Ghoul (Hindu religious extremist villains) were made under BJP rule. So please stop this victimhood rant. You're sounding like a headless chicken.

If you are an Indian and you have a problem with Pakistanis being shown as antagonists because according to you they were muslims, then my friend you have a huge problem!

Also, do you realize that Sooryavanshi had all Pakistani villains and none were Indian Muslims?

Dude, you're making my head hurt with your nonsensical rants. Please go take a nap.

The 1993 blasts were real, just like the 2006 Malegaon bombings which weren't mentioned of course. The propaganda is showing muslims as evil and when not just as token yes men with no character whatsoever. Add to that the numerous other movies with Muslim villians in the past few years + anti Muslim propaganda being pushed on social media and by the ruling party and it's problematic.

But I'm not surprised that its not a problem for you considering how you ignore Hindu extremists targeting Muslims and Christians while only focusing on the bad stuff Muslims have done. Only Islamic extremism is a problem, clearly Hindus are perfect & movies showing just that suits your agenda

You mean Rohit Shetty should’ve included it in this movie which has a subject about 1993 blasts? How are these two things even related and how could he incorporate it in his movie?I think you are absolutely losing the plot here, quite literally! 😳

Not at all, in fact I said I liked those movies. The problem is how bhakts use the hate for Pakistan to spread hate for Indian Muslims as well constantly saying they don't belong here. If there were mostly just Pakistani antagonists there would be no problem. But instead we also have Muslim terrorists, cartoonishly evil Muslims in historical movies + add to that the political situation and it would be silly to deny the agenda here.

You think it's a coincidence how Muslim villians have risen a lot in numbers while good Muslim representation has decreased in the past few years?

Rana Ayyub does have many articulate and valid journalistic think pieces. This is not one of them.

Ever since I was a child, I remember Indian movies having caricaturish and simplistic depictions of the religious divides in India. They are always black and white with very little room for grey. They say simplistically divide a diverse population into good Indians and bad Indians. Sooryavanshi is not the first movie to do this nor will it be the last movie to do this. And these movies are always a hit.

It's not just religion, it is just how masala movies deal with social issues in general. Simmba too was a loud rape-revenge story. It completely lacked nuance and fed into the Madonna-whore duality of Indian society.

I think the better topic and the bigger question is - why the continued success of masala films with oversimplified and often problematic depictions of social issues should worry us.

The reason why such things are an issue right now is that in the past India was just a pot of water. It could spill, splish, and splash but was typically harmless. Under the current regime, India is a pot of boiling water. The molecules are all agitated and constantly vibrating. It doesn't take much to boil over, burn, and scald.

He could have mentioned them to show that there have been extremists on both sides instead of villifying only Muslims while Hindus are saints. Then again we can't have that since your type also thinks that only Islamic extremism is a problem.

This is just like the numerous historical movies portraying every Muslim as some cartoon villian while every Hindu is some 100% nice and good hero. And then you still deny that this is part of an agenda and think I'm losing the plot...sure

Okay, so you want the makers to mention 2006 blasts in a movie about the 1993 blasts? 🤣

Keep trolling. You're very entertaining.

Yeah, he should've shown the characters doing a time-travel in the future and experiencing 2006 blasts 13 years later. 🤣

I still don't know how people are taking and replying to you seriously. They for sure deserve an award.

But you won't get it I suppose so this is a pointless discussion
